Well everyone else is starting individual threads, so I will too.
The NewCastle Saints will be taking applications for several positions.
Please PM me with your resume, what position you are applying for, and any details you think are important. Upon recieving your resume, I will send you a list of interview questions. I hope to have all staff positions filled by early next week.
Positions To Be Filled:
Assistant GM. Responsibilites will include communications with the league office and making sure we are in compliance with all rules and regulations, salary cap management, working with me and the AHC to formulate our offensive and defensive philosophies before starting on the draft board, assisting with the draft board, and basically being my right hand man/woman. You will also be asked to fill in for any other staff member if they are unable to fulfill their duties at any time. Qualified candidates will possess extensive knowledge of not only NFL players, but schemes and gameplanning, numbers, and the game of football in general. Basically this position is a jack of all trades.
Director of Scouting. Your expertise should be in evaluating how a particular player will fit into our philosophy, (for example, if we were running a Tampa 2 defense, sorting out players that do and don't fit that system before we even get started on the draft board, or find players with specific strengths or weaknesses) helping with the draft board, and during the season keeping the staff informed of possible trades or trade offers. Qualified applicants will have an extensive knowledge of current NFL AND COLLEGE players.
Assistant Head Coach. The AHC will be my defensive guru. Responsibilities include defensive gameplanning each week, and in-depth input and discussions into the defensive side of our draft board.
More duties will be assigned to the staff as we see just exactly what needs to be done once we get going.
As for me, I will serve as the EDoPP, GM, Head Coach and be in charge of the offense. I will have final say over the draft and trades, but I expect my entire staff to give their input and discuss our picks. I would be truly happy if our organization could function like the Bills have lately, by forming a consensus. If you do your job well and prove yourself, the more input and responsibilities you will receive. All applicants should be prepared to put in as much time as it takes to get us ready for the draft, and a few hours a week during the season.
