What positions are you targeting in round 1

we could want players a, b, c and E but u could pick before us and know we need player E to complete our team stragity...so u could take him to throw us off...we don't want that

thats why i said positions
and the reson is started this was because i was trying to see what positions were hot or not

I'm with Chazz on a QB, though. No secret here. If, and only if, I stay in the top 10 of the FA draft. If I trade out of my spot at #3, I'll probably go defense first though. Totally depends.

I guess you could build a trenches first team, or an offensive powerhouse team. I'm not sure where to start, but with a SUPER high pick, you almost have to get the best QB available. If you're lower in the 1st, I'd probably take trenches, and hope they can protect you lack of talent in the backfield.

JMO.

I am leaning towards trading out of the 1st altogether, stacking rookie picks and maybe drafting all lines in the first 6-7 rounds and fill in the skill positions after the big money is spent on the lines. Draft rookies that will translate well into skill positions next year? I dunno....big margin of error both ways it seems.

You figure you can get Sage Rosenfels as your QB, who had decent numbers last year and have a MASSIVE O Line, and have two mediocre backs to split time, might be more effective than having a marginal or substandard O Line and Moss, Westbrook and Favre as your skill players. I don't know quite yet....

Defense...same goes here. Depending on the scheme(cover 2 as an easy example), it may be more important to draft DE's that are studs in the first few rounds, so you don't have to stack the DB's. Make sure you get after the QB, regardless.

Imagine first four rounds: Freeney, Ngata, Patty Williams and Schobel.

Now that's a line worth having! Imagine how little other teams could run on you!

You can go however you'd like. This is my train of thought, though....
