NOT AT ALL. He's too small and weak.
He is fast, but big deal, so is everyone in the NFL.
i know this guy VERY well. he won't start. this pick tells me they are gunning for him to be a BU to a trade maybe?
Not sure, but poor pick!

I was hoping to trade down, or if not, get a WR. Doesn't really have anything to do with him specifically, I just didn't want us to go CB. I think this pick could be good if its supported by the rest of our draft, meaning, if we go all out offense from here.

robreg ,how can you say this wasn't a good pic....this is the best corner in the draft. It's pick 24 and no one has icked a wr yet!there will be a ton of them in the second round. We will get our choice of hardy, kelly and nelson

Okay, so unless the top WRs are there during our 2nd pick, what's your point?

THE POINT IS....

A WR at 11 would have been a MAJOR reach......which you guys would have B!TCHED about too....

Not that I'm not happy that it was LEODIS MCKELVIN...more upset that it was a CB!

Let's ****en pray that Hardy or Kelly are still there!

You guys are amazing.

There is no LEGIT first round WR in this draft.....

None of them are impact players this year.

Oh a reach? Well Mel, MY point is that I wanted a WR in the first round, because that's our biggest need and is what will help our team out the most. If we wanted to trade down, then fine. But calling somoene a reach when they would have been picked later in that round is just pointless. If you want someone, you can either pick them or pass on them. And if they're there at your next pick, then passing was a good move, if not, then you just missed out on that player. So as I said before, unless they're there at our 2nd round pick (a lot of teams coming up that could use WRs), what's your point?

Marv is on the Chicago ESPN affiliate radio station commenting on the draft. He said his preference was DRC. He liked DRC's return capabilities more, among other things (which he didn't specify). He did say McKelvin was a good pick, but, personally, he liked DRC better.

So our biggest need is a WR?

Then our second biggest need would have to be corner right?

So you pick a WR early that wont help us right away, thus NOT FILLING ANY NEED.....

Or you take the best corner in the draft who will start RIGHT AWAY.

I wouldn't necessarily say our next biggest need was CB actually. I actually would stick with offense and say we need a TE or on defense, a better pass rushing DE.

Haha, what makes you so sure a CB can start right away? And a WR wouldn't?

As I said, which you're completely ignoring, I preferred for us to trade down. But pretending we couldn't find a trade center, I'd think a WR would help us out more. Our offense is awful. A CB wont help that, and no matter how good our defense is, if our offense goes 3 and out every drive, the defense is just gonna get worn out. PLUS, what ever happened to a pass rush is more important than a good CB? Ya...us people who want a WR wouldn't be "*****ing" about reaching if we took one.

It's just like last year...

You take Hardy or whichever WR at 11 and you DONT get a top 3 CB without giving something up....

We got them both.

Last year, had we taken Poz at #12 we would not have gotten Lynch.....

I agree that I would have liked to trade down, cuz look, now we missed out on all the top TEs, which I would have preferred over a good CB, and we could have gotten a good CB in the second. HOWEVER, Hardy, who our team clearly saw as the top WR (possibly behind Thomas, and Nelson), fell to us and we got him AND most experts are calling McKelvin the top CB. People keep complaining about his size...but I don't get it, scouting reports all say he has good size? He IS 190, which is like 5 pounds heavier than DRC who is a few inches taller. So either way, the Bills had their choice of any CB and they took him, and I trust that decision. Have any of their picks in the past two years led you to think otherwise? They're the ones scouting these guys. They're interviewing them, giving them physicals, watching hours and hours of tape on them; not us, so don't pretend to know more than they do.

Good Pick but i think drc is going to be a better player!

Based on what? 1 year of solid DII production a good pro day and a good combine+ senior bowl... McKelvin was a no brainer. He played in a tough division as well and was a top corner before kiper decided hey... this guys tall and fast and hey his names cromartie too! Sorry but solid production wins anyday in a tough division
Troy has been starting to pump out some pretty decent players... I believe he will be one. Great Pick Red White and Blue. Go Bills!

I can't make sense out of this. First you say we should trade down for a WR and now you're saying we should have traded down for a TE. And pick up a CB in the second round? That means we wouldn't be able to get a WR until the third?

The Bills really couldn't have done much better. They got a top CB and WR in rounds 1 and 2, getting a TE when you already have six signed just doesn't fit.

When you think about the division we are in and the receivers we face, particularly NE, a CB is a greater need than WR. If the Bills thought a WR was that pressing of a need they could have gotten a reasonably priced WR in free agency.

And just out of curiosity what CB could we have gotten in the second round? All top ones were gone. Defense was the name of the game in round one.

You misunderstood what I was saying. Look at my mock, I meant we could have traded down, taken a WR in the late first, picked up an extra 2nd, taken a TE and a CB in the 2nd. However, I'm happy with the way things worked out, so I'm not complaining at all, just discussing the need of WR and TE vs CB.

And please don't say that since we have a lot of TEs on the roster, we don't need a new one. These are not quality TEs. Edwards showed that he really likes using TEs in those short passes, he would really benefit from a good one, none of the guys we have are proven. HOWEVER, since we filled a bunch of other needs so far, and all the top TEs are gone, I guess we're gonna have to just try to make one of the guys we have work. Maybe Teyo will be better here cuz even Moss sucked on the Raiders.

I'm really convinced that we have, or after some time, will have an amazing defense now, with absolutely no holes. Our offense will probably need some help, but seriously, just one or two unexpected guys stepping up, like Edwards progressing this year with his new additions and one of those TEs working out, and we're a serious playoff caliber team.
