The nice thing about this draft is that you really got to see who the Bills had rated the highest on their board. They had a choice between Cromartie and McKelvin and chose Leodis. They had a choice of Kelly, Sweed, and Hardy and chose Hardy. I trust Jauron and Modrack, so, I'm thrilled with the draft so far

they also must have had hardy rated higher than thomas, because once the second round came along, i thought the bills would have made a trade for thomas, if they truly valued him. that would have given us, arguably, the top corner AND receiver in the draft. so i think they did have hardy over thomas. if not, the difference wasn't much. so far, awesome picks. im really excited for hardy.

I think it is probably fair to say that Hardy would have been at the least our 1st 'alternative'. I'm sure they rated Nelson quite highly, but I doubt he was more so than Hardy. I'm prepared to 'concede' that Thomas may have been higher rated, but as their consistent comments about 'open when isn't', are being taken into consideration, I think Hardy could have actually been our target all along.

I guess Hardy was #2 on our WR board(Thomas), we made the right choice out of the WR's available at 41!!!!

my bet is that hardy was second, thomas had everything we've been looking for lately.

The only person who could have been ahead of Hardy was thomas, but i doubt it. We had our pick out of all the receiver and took Hardy for a reason.

This does not actually make sense. You are saying that we MUST have had Hardy higher than Thomas because if Thomas was higher we would have traded up for him.

But if that is true, than since we had Hardy ranked higher, we would have traded up for Hardy.

It doesn't make sense. The Bills trade up every once in a while, but they also operate in clusters. If there are a cluster of guys who are close, they don't worry if they can't get the best as long as they can get one of the cluster. They may well have Nelson and Thomas higher. No way to prove it either way.

Just accept that there's no way we can know.

Thomas AND Nelson. You're just guessing. Your argument comes down to "I personally believe Hardy was ranked higher than Thomas/Nelson/both, so ... " It's a guess.

I believe that they could well have had Hardy as their top WR, for the reason I stated before, i.e. all the things about 'open when not open'. Avery wouldn't have been a consideration in that respect. Thomas and Nelson are both good prospects, but do they offer that as well? Certainly not in the same way that Hardy does. I don't think it is that much of a 'stretch' to say that, especially bearing in mind where receivers were eventually taken.
I wouldn't say, 'must have' but I will say 'could have', for the reasons above.

I like the fact that the did not trade up to grab somebody but kept it cool and took what was there at 41. I don't care it Thomas was higher. I think it is a d... good choise they made and just the WR this offence need.
