And got his hands on the ball more than any other CB available in this draft.

I scratched my head as well but lets all remember 56-10 when the Patriots WR's were running around our secondary wide open.

We still have 6 picks left.

Might be a candidate to move to safety, also good ST player.

Youbouty lovers...where are you now?

The kid must not have it...

Either that or it's an Bobby April pick...we do need some gunners.

Nice find. I'm interested to see how everthing works out before I freakout about a guy we don't know much about.

Sure, the Bills have Greer but hes' a free agent after this season and YTouboty hasn't exactly played his way onto the field.

God, don't remind me of that night. 5 hour bus trip cause the driver sucked and didn't know how to get there.

No, we dont need a TIGHT END! Lets draft another CB! Are ya kidding me? Unless he was projected as a 2nd rounder, how can you possibly justify this pick? i dont get it!

Were you in the bag that night?

Stupid Pick.

We are one injury away on the D-Line and O-Line from disaster.

Depth on the lines should be where we are going, but Jauron goes corner again? Why?

We signed James in the offseason.

Now we have Youbouty, James, Greer, McGee, McKelvin, and Corner.

Doesn't make sense to me. God forbid Peters or Stroud go down.

lets see ... we draft a nickle and that must mean a corner who is not a nickle is on his way out. i can see that.

missed out on Xavier Adibi who we could use on ST and as LB depth...

and passed on a starting FB who would be a HUGE fan favorite in Schmitt...

to take a CB who won't play unless a couple people get hurt. i don't see the logic. screw the Best Player Avialable... if he isn't going to play i don;t care how good he is.

I do remember that 56-10 thumping the Patriots did to the Bills and not only were the Pats WR's running all over the place but Tom Brady had 6 seconds to throw the football, Now with the moves the Bills made in F/A and here in the draft let's see how the Bills match up with the Pats now......

48 games played. 197 tackles. 35 passes broken up, 15 INTs.

I don't have a problem with this pick at all.

He is a small guy, though (5'9 1/2" 180) and projects as a nickelback.

That's a very good point.

The guy is supposedly a ball hawk.

He may very well compete at FS.

I don't see this pick as filling a position need and I don't even see it as a "best available player" pick. He was projected to go lower and there were a few corners ranked ahead of him. I would love to be wrong but I think Buffalo could have used this pick better.

Looking at this realistically - and I know anything's possible, but really - who here thinks that five years down the road, Reggie Corner will have made more of a name for himself in the league than Owen Schmitt? Right, I don't think it's going to happen. I don't see how you can possibly pass a guy like this up. He's a game changer pure and simple, insofar as he can get the tough yards and he would bring the right attitude to our team. A FAR greater need than a sixth CB...

He might be a liitle small to play safety, but you never know. From what I read is that he's at his best running with the receiver than read and reacting a play.

the defense has improved by far but we all new we needed help bad on the O side of the ball for this team to make the next step, I'm not sure either corner breaks the starting lineup this year , unless the bills have a trade or 2 in mind so far with this selection they have went from a grade b to a grade c!!!

Let's wait and see. I have to give the management a little slack to see what happens. there has been a huge run on Centers and tight Ends, so this is the guy they had at the top of the Board.

Some contracts are up soon and some guys didn't pan out. I'll tell you in a few years.

I agree... unless he had a 2nd round grade, which im sure he didnt... why take another CB?? to be our 6th or 5th at the best CB>?? seriously stupid

I was so pumped about our 1st 3 picks..

maybe he'll be another McGee who we also got in the 4th round

about the same size

What if McGee or McKelvin goes down before we made this pick? You could argue the same thing with every position. Trust in the front office. They've seen more tape, done more interviews and studied more players then you ever will in your life.

I guess all that makes sense but man, we do have to put points on the board, too, and so far we've improved our pathetic 2007 Offense by one WR and during the offseason by one TE. I'm thinking we needed more than that!

Gotta say that the number 4 pick was a bit mystifying seeing as how we probably need a TE pretty bad and we definitely need a FB and there is always the question of line depth........ oh, well.

Remember what DJ was saying - you can't have enough corners in this league these days, with 4 WR sets often, and occasional 5 WR sets. With the 'pass happy' offences these day, you probably need 6 on the roster to be safe, as if any get injured, you are struggling again.

The Bills have not been one to address the trenches in all reality since the late 90s for the first 4 rounds.

Perhaps that's why we haven't been in the playoffs?

I shudder to think if one of our o-lineman go down (our depth is horrible).

here guys info from NFL.com
http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/reggie-corner?id=4451
Overview

Corner has been a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks since moving into the starting lineup as a red-shirt freshman. Certainly not the biggest defensive back you will find, he compensates for a lack of height and bulk with outstanding leaping ability, great timing and natural hands to get to more than a fair share of balls in flight. He is the only player to lead outright or share the team lead for interception in each of the four seasons he suited up for the Zips.

His 15 interceptions tied for second on the school career record list. He joined All-American Dwight Smith (261 yards, 1997-2000) and Shawn Vincent (265 yards, 1988-90) as the only players in Akron annals to return interceptions for 225 or more yards in a career. He had at least one interception or pass deflection in 28 of the 48 games he played in for Akron.

I watched some highlights on the kid vs. Indiana, and I've got to admit that I was wrong. The guy definitely has the potential to be a very, very intrigung player, who might not play a whole lot the next couple of seasons, but during the long run he could be a valuable player.

We definitely need extra depth at CB... We got beat down last season.

If McGee or McKelvin gets hurt, you'll all be singing a different tune...

Why? It doesn't change the fact that we drafted a 6th round-Free Agent CB in the early 4th.

Have you actually watched the multimedia piece on him? Basically the kid is an all round good corner prospect. For his college, they always put him against the opposing #1 WR - including Hardy when they played him. Apparently he never looked out of place. This kid could well become a player down the road.
He may be relatively short, but iirc he has a pretty impressive vertical number.

PFW had him on a 6th round grade, so that's not exactly fair. The way I look at it is, if you like a guy, and you think he's a good enough player for the 4th round, you have to take him there.

All of us in the Sim League could tell you of two or three instances in our draft where we were sure someone would last another couple rounds only to see that player snatched up and lose out on him.

he is a great player. stood out vs. top competition when he played top teams. best ball skills in the draft. many passes broken up and many interceptions. he is physical, he is a typical cover 2 corner. only downfalls are lack of size and superior speed. however he doesnt really need either in a cover 2 defense, although it would help. great pick up. should be a great special teamer and a good nickel back.

he was actually given a 5th to 6th round grade by PFW.... i have the magazine and this kid was a 4 year starter with excellent production. he is a player, not a bum.
