Welcome the first NCAA player to reach 1,500 yards in 4 straight seasons!
Strengths:
Has excellent size and bulk...Strong and powerful...Tough inside runner...Does not go down easily and will pick up yards after contact...Nice vision and instincts...Has pretty good hands...Physical and punishes defenders...Offers some versatility...Is a very good blocker...Proven workhorse with a lot of experience...Real productive.
Weaknesses:
Does not have great timed speed...Not very quick or explosive...Isn't very elusive and doesn't have much wiggle...Not a big play threat...Won't get outside and turn the corner at the next level...Ball security is an issue...Really has a ton of mileage on his tires and durability may be a concern...Did not play against top competition.
Notes:
Could also potentially project to fullback in the NFL...Division II's leading rusher in 2007 and led his team to the National Championship game...North / South runner who is a jack-of-all-trades but master of none..Not starting material but can make a roster and contribute in a number of different ways...Was dominant as his level and has emerged as one of the best small school prospects in the 2008 NFL Draft.

doesn't sound too bad of a back to give a 6th round shot at. Could be our Fullback

In 2007, he led the Division II ranks in rushing, was named the D-II Offensive Player of the Year and became the first back in NCAA history to rush for 1,500 yards in each of four seasons. He ran for an eye-popping 2,337 yards and 37 touchdowns on 370 carries (6.3 average) in 14 games (all starts) as a senior.
Who gives a **** if it's Division II - How the hell is almost 2400 yards a BAD THING?

hahaha I bet if we took Mike Hart and threw him in Division II he wouldn't run for 37 touchdowns

He scored 37 td's last year. I'll take 37 TD's over a couple drops.

It just doesnt make any sense though getting this guy... must be a "value pick" situatio because i think everyone will agree that Fred Jackson emerged last year as a great back...and we have Beast Mode tearing it up, not to mention drafting Wright last year... Wright was a little disapointing when he made it into the line up when Marshawn was hurt which opened the door for Jackson, but i still just dont get this move unless the FO is looking to give up on Wright or convert this guy to FB... strange move

Maybe the Bills are looking at him as a goal line guy as well. Marshawn really isn't a goal line player. This guy is big, and gets into the endzone. That makes him a threat to block as well as carry the ball in. A HB and FB in one. Versatility to play both spots is a good thing. His rushing stats say he can punch the ball in the endzone, so my guess is that the Bills didn't want a prototypical blocking FB. Sounds fine to me when running 2 backs in the backfield. Lots of options. Don't know if he can catch passes out of the backfield, but it would make him even more versatile.

"What's your proudest moment in football? Proudest moment off the field? "
In fourth grade, when I scored my first touchdown. Every day is a great moment because of my decision not to drink or smoke, which make me a good role model.
I like that..... good kid

He Is A North/south Runner And Can Block What Don't People Understand About This Pick We Didn't Have A Short Yardage Back Until Now. Holy Sh1t!

Yeah, he could be like our Bus. I'm fine with a 6th round role player. the more TDs the better

It doesn't really matter what everyone thinks, he would have still been on the board two rounds later.

His highlight film was real good. This kid is big and can catch it and run it. He can help in short yardage as well as play a little FB. Great pick.

That is a crappy description of his weaknesses...I've seen this guy play and there are times he eluded the crap out of defenders. "Ball security issue" didn't really seem to be a problem that much to me...everybody has a couple of mistakes here and there. He's a solid back.

Ball security is blown out of proportion horribly. From his college's website: a note from 2006 season: *Xavier Omon has lost a fumble once in the last 682 rushing attempts.
That's pretty **** good if you ask me. I'd take a risk with that.
Timed speed means nothing. Game speed, the kid is better. Not to mention he ran at the combine with a hyper-extended knee. He's also pretty shifty. Watch his tapes for that.

I feel Oman was a solid pick for the 6th round. I hate to change the thread, but the pick I had a big problem with was Bowen in the 5th. Owen Schmit was still on the board. Any takers?
