You guys are crazy. IF this guy makes the team hes a special teamer for a few years. No way in hell he's battling for the number 3 reciever spot.

You are so wrong its funny. I have watched every game he has played the last 2 yrs at Kentucky. He is an absolute player. He has NFL size, strength, rarely drops balls, and has more grit and determination than any WR on our team right now...including Evans. Trust me....the staff is going to absolutely fall in love with this guy and not only will he make the team, but he will get major PT THIS YEAR. He's that good.

I'm a UK fan and came to check out what you guys think of Johnson. I've watched every game he played, and this guy is no slouch. While SEC defenses are obviously not NFL caliber, they're as close as it gets. And this guy consistently made HUGE plays at crucial times to win games against the best defenses in college football - including a great touchdown in the third overtime period against then #1 and national champion LSU. He's probably not ever going to be a pro bowl receiver, but he'll be a solid contributor in a year or so. Definitely a steal where he went in the draft. And he's an emotional leader, he has the ability to get the entire team and fanbase pumped up like you wouldn't believe. If you have any specific questions about his game, strengths or weaknesses, I would be happy to answer. I'm a Bills fan now! :firstplace:

just throwing this out there i saw on walter football he ran a sub 4.5 at his pro day
Matt McGuire

Yeah but Kentucky's pro day times are crap. Trust me.
Derrick Locke ran a 4.2 flat. As fast as Deion Sanders? I don't think so.
I could care less about what time Steve Johnson runs. The only forty you should be worried about is how many forty yard gains he is going to have against the AFC East this year.

Derrick Locke is a track phenom. He is unbelievable fast and his 4.21 may not be too far fetched. Alfonso Smith ran a 4.29. These two running backs are unreal fast.
Stevie is a steal for you guys.

He is fast, but I'd say 4.3 fast, not 4.2. Alfonso's time is legit, but I'm not sold on Locke running a 4.21. That is scary.
If Locke can gain 25-30 pounds I think he has a chance to play in the league.
The best athetes I saw on film for Kentucky (including Johnson) is ILB Micah Johnson and CB Trevard Lindley. Both look like future first round draft picks.
