If you know me then you know how much I love Steve Johnson:

Good size
CLUTCH PLAY ABILITY
Solid route runner
Keeps improving
Hard Worker/great character (I've met him, he's really humble)
Outstanding ball skills
UNDERRATED RUN AFTER CATCH.

Steve Johnson is the next Marques Colston, and I couldn't think of a more perfect team to develop on.

This offense is looking SCARY.

I gave Steve Johnson a 2nd round draft grade. I'm not kidding. If he was as productive in his junior year as his senior year, we are talking about a first round draft pick.

I agree, Matt.

Aside from speed, honestly, what is the difference in Johnson and Devin Thomas, other than Johnson showed up more in big games, scored nearly twice as many TDs and started fewer games?

Obviously the two players have differences, but I mean both were Juco transfers, both had 1 year of productivity, both are pretty raw but have a lot of potential.

And let me say another thing, He was GARBAGE as a junior. Horrible. He couldn't catch anything. Everything Woodson threw him he dropped (but Woodson kept throwing to him, which shows the kind of leader he is) in his junior year. Not confident at all. The progress he showed in his senior year shows me he's on the right track to becoming one heck of a player. I'm getting a #13 Bills jersey tonight.

Go to WalterFootball.com and ask anyone. I started this kid's bandwagon. At one time I had him in the 2nd round of my mock draft.

In both forum mocks we had, I took Steve Johnson in the 3rd round for my Bucs. I'm not happy we passed up on him in the 5th round for Josh Johnson.

Ignore the forty time. I saw him outrun a Florida State defense as he burnt Myron Rolle.

Throw away the forty time, I'm telling you.

i can understand your frustration given the ridiculous number of QBs you already have but j. johnson could be sick, and he's marshawn's cousin so you know he has the genetics to be great. i liked him for the bills but i'm very pleased with this pick so late in addition to the bell pick, peters anyone?

Obviously the two players have differences, but I mean both were Juco transfers, both had 1 year of productivity, both are pretty raw but have a lot of potential.

The difference is Devin Thomas is a better deep threat and he has a better 40 time.

Steve Johnson is tougher, more clutch, more phyiscal, and runs better routes. A much more complete receiver.

I gave both WRs 2nd round grades, but if I had my choice I would have taken Johnson over Thomas because Thomas is much more raw.

SJ doesn't have much experience, but because he is well coached, developed nicely, and has a good work ehtic, I'd draft him over Thomas in a heartbeat.

I was never a big Thomas fan to begin with. I felt he was the one to bust in the first tier of WRs.
