Ummm WHAT? Why the h eck is this guy a 7th round pick? Talk about a steal... I mean this guy has better numbers than some WRs selected in the 2nd round!
I am really pulling for Johnson to be our Colston! That is in the respect of being a late round talent.

.....look at his competition. He is good, but not gamebreaking. We'll see how he adjusts to the NFL, he is certainly a project player.

If the play at 5:35 isn't gamebreaking, then I have no clue what is:

that was amazing.. with everyone right on him as soon as he caught the ball, turned on the afterburners and left everyone in the dust.. im really excited about this pick, and agree that we was a steal, I would have considered him at least in the fourth round, considering the best games he played were also against the best competition in the bigger games.... the other games against the smaller competition, with lower numbers, you can't really hold against him as they didn't need him as much.

He put up great numbers in the biggest games.

look at his competition.
Yeah, that weak SEC, I tell ya...
what are you talking about? Johnson put it on LSU for 7 catches, 134 yards and a TD. Florida the very next week got a dose of 8 catches for 128 yards. I guess you could say Georgia held him in check- he got his 8 catches, but only went for 88 yards in that game. He caught 5 passes for 75 yards and 2 TDs against Tennessee. Music City bowl he against Florida State, Johnson caught 7 balls for 124 yards and 2 TDs.
Who in their right mind would question competition like that??

From what I understand the guy made two game winning cathces against ranked teams.
The fact of the matter is for a guy who is raw, the numbers look pretty serious. I am not a big numbers guy, but people were all over Devin Thomas because of his numbers...
Johnson may not have the yards but 13 TDS! Hardy with 16... Omon with 37! Buffalo just added in the ball park of 29 at the Wr position... 66 total between 3 players?

SEC seems like decent competition to me, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina aren't pushovers

Exactly... Tennessee might not be what it used to be but Flordia won a NC a couple years back and Georgia was a team on the rise last year. South Carolina is never a push over...
Not saying the guy played against the Elite... but I mean just because you play against top competition does not mean you are a better prospect. Football is football AT ANY LEVEL.

I watch 1200+ hours of film and games every year. And let me say, as an objective draft analyst, the SEC speed is real.
Quarterbacks can't throw the ball downfield because of the closing speed of corners and safeties. Steve Johnson was always able to seperate. He drops a catchable ball sometimes, but every WR does and he got better as the season went on.
Developmental progression is very improtant to me as a "scout."

This is someone who I really hope the Buffalo Bills keep on their 53 man roster.
I am not knocking parrish and Reed (esp now that we have Hardy), but a guy with his production and size needs to be on the field.

Let's remember: we are talking about Florida State
Not Boston College. Not Wisconsin. Not Texas A&M. Legit Florida speed.
I thought he was going to run a very low 4.4, and that play was exactly why.
Game speed > 40 speed

It doesn't mean you are a better prospect just because you play against it.
But when you play against the hands down fastest conference in the country, and you dominate, that means something. He didn't just play, he produced big.
Big players make big plays in big games.
Game winning catches against Louisville and LSU. Not to mention what everyone else has already said.
I mean how many clutch #3 WRs are there in the NFL? Steve Johnson could be just that.

Steve Johnson... I would have been fine if the Bills took this guy with one of their extra 4ths thats how much I like this guy... And seeing the video, just goes to show the combine does not tell the full story about a players speed.
Between Hardy and Johnson the Bills have added a combine 29 TD producing combo out of college last season! That is 17 more than our entire team last year!

He has 3 game winning catches last year. That's what we need. If he can continue this in the NFL, he will be the go to guy for Trent in sticky situations. He will be our 3rd wide receiver by year's end, if not by the end of preseason. He is an extremely hard worker. Played in JUCO to get his grades up, didn't play year before last because his academics and work ethic were lacking. He turned it all around last year. That's a guy you want on your team, and on the field. Someone who persarveres through all circumstances and comes out on top. Evans better play real well, he's got alot of great talent behind him now.

The reason he was a 7th round pick is becuase he only had one good year
Then why was Devin Thomas a 2nd round pick?
