I dont mind a speed DE at this selection. It seems that character has flown out the window now that Marv left. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt with Hardy. If there was one school whose players I would pass on it's Virginia Tech. They run an undisciplined program, leading to undisciplined players. I can't stand this pick.

B.S. Character matters a heck of a lot, and if you don't believe it, why don't you trade for Pacman Jones and Chris Henry for your fantasy team and watch the points pile up ... or not.

Don't know enough about this situation, but it looks like a red flag to me. I'm sure that they interviewed him, but with two possible character guys in one draft, I wonder if we are downgrading the importance of character guys. I hope not.

What character flaws does Chris Ellis have, I haven't read of any problems at all. Or are you just attacking VT program as a whole ?

Ellis got in some trouble (suspension from a game..Think it was the Georgia Tech game 06) he and a teammate went to a night club and the teammate got arrested..then Ellis wouldn't listen to police orders to leave the scene and he was arrested too..I think there was a big crowd outside the club, when it closed and Ellis made a stupid decision to stay instead of leaving his boy...I don't know but this didn't sound like too big of a deal..I can remember when I was in college and having stuff like this go down on a regular basis...remember these guys are young, and having fun, partying, and chasing women..thats what its all about in college..I just know from experience that if he only had one run in like that...man its not like the dude hurt anyone.. if thats a character flaw..guess what..most of the free world has character flaws..if they interviewed him..they know what they are getting..and they must think it wasn't serious..I don't think it was either..sometimes people slip up its what you do after the slip up that shows your true character..

I also don't think it sounds like a big deal. Sounds like he didn't want to leave his teammate and the cops got fed up with it and arrested him.

And I think the person who said that Virginia Tech runs an undisciplined program was thinking of West Virginia.

That's a pretty stupid statement. Va Tech runs a top notch program, not that undisciplined (i.e) Marcus Vick no longer there for character issues.

He may have thought he was being loyal to his friend to a fault, but you want a guy like that - maybe when a Pats player takes out our QB intentionally, he will plant Brady in the turf(legally of course, but hard).
