I am a big KU fan. I have seen him play numerous times over the last few years. You guys are right, he isn't 6'7" 255 nor does he run a 4.6 BUT he is a heck of a football player. Real tough, real aggresive and plays with a mean streak. He will be a good solid NFL player. I like this pick. He will be a fan favorite in Buffalo before long.

Reguardless, he isn't even close to having 4th round value.
Maybe we should have reached for him in the 6th!!!!

A Pick is valued at whatever a team thinks it is (if the Bills thought 1, just 1 team was eying him... then y take the risk...
IMO picks, more than not, picks that ppl think are a reach (see Donte Whitner)...turn out to be really good.

AND YA, thx for sharing TaTownBacker, if you are still online, can you share more of what you know about em' :)... how is his blocking, and hands and such...
I did watch a highlight on him, on youtube, only had 2plays with him, but I liked what i saw! made two nice catches, knows how to catch the ball with his arms extended with his hands...and for a 4th round pick, I LIKE IT...

What impressed me most with Fine over the last couple of seasons is his intensity. The guy LOVES football and LOVES hitting people. He is a relentless and playes beyond the whistle. He has very good hands and made a bunch of clutch catches for the Jayhawks the last few seasons. Like I said though, it is his drive and intensity that make me believe he will be a very good player for us. He will also be a fan favorite if he makes it.

I love the guy (surprise!), but the only knock on him I have is that I've seen him drop more than one completely easy open pass. The tough catches he seems to have no problem with, but sometimes he gets ahead of himself on the easy wide open ones.
Other than, I'm probably the most thrilled person on this board with this pick.

If you're happy, I'm happy..
I hope this guy can catch
6-8 passes a game, then
we keep possession, move
the chains, especially in bad
weather late in the season.

I wanted my boy Finley, but my concern with that was his blocking ability. I really like what I'm reading about Fine's blocking skills. In retrospect Fine might be the better choice because he can block. I was affraid with Finley if he came in the game it would signal to the defense to watch the pass and/or running plays would suffer because Finley would get owned. Hopefullly Fine can block and bring in some surprise 3rd down receptions. I would really like an every down tight end with the versatility to block and catch.

You're expecting him to catch 100 balls?

There is no way they want him to be a catching TE. He must be some sort of project player where they want to use him as a FB.

That's because you obviously don't know much about him. It's not surprising to those of us that DO know him and have seen him play. DOn't be afraid to admit ignorance, it's alright.

No, but that doesn't make him any better as a player.
