I think some of you are kidding yourself if you think this guy is gonna be happy on ST. He reminds me of Thurman Thomas. As long as 3rd and 2 is a passing down for us there will be room for power with something to prove.

Wait a minute here........slow down just a bit.

I am as excited as anyyone to see this guy run, but make no mistake about it......HE IS NOT IN LYNCH'S LEAGUE.

Now, Fred Jackson on the other hand......I like Jackson, but this guy might push him a bit. It all depends on how well he can adjust to the speed of the NFL and learn to pick up blitzes.

Mt likely Omon will never be more than a backup, but we will see. I am sure you must have been joking about the LYNCH vs OMON stuff, but if someone out there is even thinking about this at this point.....take a step back.

Lynch is not only a great young back, but I feel if he stays healthy this year, and the new Offensive Coaching Staff uses him right, he could really be among the TOP RBs IN THE LEAGUE! He might already be there.

i think you started this to get some attention. either that or its a sick joke. omon is no where near the back that lynch is. if lynch was d-2 he probably would of doubled what this guy put up. omon wont even be a halfback.....i see him more in the full back blocking schme anyways. with 4.5 speed ....ya dont think he is going anywhere fast.

Not an attention seeker, just optimistic. Thurman wasn't a fast back. You don't have to be fast when you can over power guys. Omon says he sees himself in the mold of Priest Holmes who wasn't a burner either.

One of you makes a great point, Lynch has to be used the right way which has to mean that he's not a 3 down back or that the playbook has to be taylored for speed. Many noticed our lack of a power run gm against Cleveland. Alot of the time you need runs up the gut for to 2-3 yds. With the force with which Lynch runs he's gonna brake something going up the middle. Lynch's running style is the same as Marion Barbers (DAL) minus Barbers size. Lynch is a beast - but an undersized one I think. Earl Campbell was a beast in every sense of the word, Priest Holmes too. I'm hoping for a BEAST WAR.

We're all projecting outcomes anyway so what are we losing? But I hope the Bills org. drafted in the later rounds with the goal and hope of finding the next Tom Brady and not some career backup. I hope Omon continues to work to silence his critics and detractors. I hope the guy is a pleasant surprise. I can't figure why some Bills fans would not only be happy with less but project for less - How does that help your team? BTW, remove his videos from the forum as apparently so far in this thread no one thinks we'll be seing any of that for the Bills. The feast is ruined.

High Hopes people - gotta have'm

I think its a commitee rb though, Lynch 70% Jackson 12% Omon 12% Wright 6%

Too many people freaking out there. Omon was good for depth and he'll get his chance to earn some time this summer in camp. He's a great kid with talent and is faster than his 40 time (he ran with a hyper-extended knee). He's been timed 4.5-4.55 healthy. And don't even dare say that's slow. Lynch ran between a 4.46 and a 4.49 so it's not like he's blowing anyone away down field either.

Also, you don't draft a RB in the 6th round and expect him to be your immediate starter. Lynch is the man and will be the man unless injured or someone simply out-plays him. You don't hear Chiefs fans freaking out cause they drafted Jamal Charles in the 3rd round do you?

This is just stupid if you actually believe Lynch would do double what Omon did. D2 defenses? Yes. D1 talent RB? Also yes, but it's not like Omon had a D1 offense around him beating up on these defense.

Prime example here: Alley Broussard, former LSU stud, transfered from LSU to Missouri Southern, another D2 school, and was no more spectacular at a lower level than any other D2 RB.

Omon's 4.5 speed was a product of the hyperextended knee injury he received after earning MVP honors at the Texas vs. the Nation game. It was still hurt at the combine, and his pro day.
