    bash away!

who says that fitzpatrick wants to mentor a guy about how to behave off the field, fitz will undoubtedly be looking at this guy as the person who will probably prevent him for getting a long term contract with the team. and if the guy is a jerkoff(not saying he is but its out there) why would fitz do that?
Will it be another decade before we see the playoffs? I am trying to remain optimistic, but the glass is starting to look a little more like half empty then half full. We shall see. The one thing I can say is that I will rigth here to no matter which way it goes.

He will be there for us at 34, and I STILL would not take him, because if his feet aren't a good enough reason to steer clear, read up on his personality and mind.... JMO!
Dude is next Ryan Leaf..... IM TELLIN YA!!!!
I don't think he is Ryan Leaf. He won't be drafted high enough to hold that honor.
This space reserved for some illogical rant about who to hire, draft, sign, or cut..maybe even a mock draft hoping we draft some payers I've never actually seen play!

They don't draft players, but they do play sports reporter. Their rankings are based on what they are hearing from NFL teams and scouts.

BTW, Tyson Alualu went at 10 because the Jaguars didn't have a second round pick.

Lets also look how well they match up with the actual drafts.

    CBS 2010, top ten rankings:
    1. Suh
    2. Bradford
    3. McCoy
    4. Berry
    5. Okung
    6. Williams
    7. Morgan
    8. Spiller
    9. Haden
    10. Bulaga.

What happened? 8/10 prospects went in the top 10. Morgan went 16th, and Bulaga went 23rd.

    CBS 2009, top ten rankings:
    1. Curry
    2. Crabtree
    3. Smith
    4. Monroe
    5. Stafford
    6. Sanchez
    7. Tyson Jackson
    8. Maclin
    9. Orakpo
    10. Raji

8/10 went in the top 10. Orakpo was 12th, and Maclin was 19th.

    ^^

Sure, they generally get the top prospects correct...

Whether Jax had a 2nd rounder or not, that has no bearing on them taking Alualu in the top 10... Why would it?

But specifically concerning Mallett.. The consensus is wrong..They're putting way too much emphasis on drug "rumors" and innuendo that can't be substantiated...

Listen to what NFL personnel men are saying about Mallett..

-His image does hurt his stock but after investigating the rumors and talking with him they don't have any "problem with it".

-Based on film alone, Mallett should be considered one of, if not, the top QB prospect in this class.

-KC Joyner published an article after breaking down four games of Blaine Gabber and five games of Ryan Mallett, using metrics and statistical output based on yards per completion and competition faced. The title of that article was "Ryan Mallett is the top QB prospect".

-Mallett was impressive in team interviews, on the grease board, and answering questions man-to-man about his character concerns.

-His football intelligence has scored "off the charts" when talking offensive and defensive schematics.

-He's the most pro ready QB in this class.

-Teammates and coaches have spoke publicly about his character and work ethic.

-The Panthers are considering Mallett as the first overall selection. They've given him portions of their playbook, to be tested on.. They interviewed him at the scouting combine, G.M Marty Hurney attended his pro day, they had a private workout with him in Arkansas, and have publicly stated that they're considering drafting Mallett ... There's nothing to be gained for Carolina stating they're interested in Mallett...

In this link this writer did a good job compiling team opinions on Mallett vs what's been reported..http://thesportsjury.com/20110310131...ts-stock-is-up

I just don't see Buffalo drafting a QB in the first round..

if you're going to do that then you either trade your pick and move to a later spot... or go D on #3, and trade back in to the first. (if they feel that confident in him i don't see why they couldn't get back in with a few picks)

That would be another reach in the long line of reaches this franchise has made.

    Yuck.

Passing on Newton would be ridiculous.

Coach, it really is a major reach. I don't even see them interested in the guy, but if they are, I can't imagine them grabbing him without trading down.

So many "feelings" on these boards about what will happen are strangely congruent with what that person wants to happen.

Because he's a pro, and because he's a good guy, and because it's for the good of the team. This is the one part of this extremely unlikely scenario that would work out just fine.

I don't know what you are eating there but if this what your gut tells you, you better change your diet fast. Mallett will slide into the second because of the smears about him. I wouldn't have a problem if the Bills took him at #34 if he was their future QB. I like him better than the top 2 alternatives.

I want greg mcelroy he can be had late as in 6-7 rd. I want Justin Houston, Kelvin Sheppard and one of the NT's(taylor, ellis, jenkins, powe, maybe fua) these 3 I can get in rds 2-4, maybe have to trade back into the 1st for houston but if we trade out of the 3 spot we will have more than enough ammo to move back up. And at that 1st spot im taking one of dareus, quinn, miller. So i have quinn, houston, sheppard, jenkins in 1-4. Then its up for grabs Oordt at TE, maybe barksdale/brewer/pinkston or one of the other RT's that are around, Mcelroy at QB, lots of options at cb maybe chekwa etc.

But with Quinn/Houston/Sheppard/Ellis im creating turnovers, increasing our pass rush, solidifying our interior run defense and lowering points per game.

Chan and company can create enough points if we dont end up being last in pass rush and run defense as well as pts allowed

If we were to take a qb before round 6-7 then id want it to be mallet, I think he has the most tools to be a consistent and effective starter in the league as long as his off the field issues prove to be moot and he doesn't try to do too much on the field ie leaning on his arm strength and forcing throws that would be ok in college but will be turnovers in the nfl. he is much like bledsoe in that if he has time and a pocket he will pick defenses apart, but will he force throws and can he handle the pressure/speed of the pass rush and of the coverage.
