I have respect for Hansen and his contributions to the organization, but imho, I don't see him as a Wall of Famer. He was a solid D-liner, but a far cry from a Buffalo Bills "legend." Moulds' name should be put up there before Hansen's. Putting Hansen's name on the wall would be comparable to putting Schobel's name on the wall; two very good defensive linemen, but neither were overly remarkable.
I personally think Hanson better than schobel ever was
While I think it's fair to say there are probably some more 'deserving' guys out there, I believe it's also foolish to underestimate Hansen as a player.
Just watch his 'highlight' reel off of the Bills media center. Hansen kept his eyes open, at all times. Look at the fumbles he's picking up on. He exhibits great awareness of what's around him, and it's the reason he became the player he was.
It's something that coaches can emphasize, but can't actually teach.
People should understand that the name on the front of the uniform is more important than the one on the back.
Why bother drafting worse players than you already have on your roster?
