To be perfectly honest, as much as I want to draft a big, physical receiver, I still think they hold out because of Easley. I think he gave them just enough hope last year towards the end of training camp that he can be a good receiver.

I think they really like Jones and Easley and are going to stick with them until proven other wise.

    2) A big, pyhsical, speedy receiver who can beat press coverage

This is the best offensive line we've had in years and I think Carrington and Dareus are progressing every game. Whenever Williams becomes 100% again, I think our defensive line wll be great.

But jamming the Bills receivers at the line of scrimmage has been the key to beating the Bills for the last 5 years. Until we stop putting these no name, undrafted receivers on the field and start putting the elite, physical receivers out there the key to stopping the Bills passing game will stay the same.

Again, I think addressing both lines were what needed to be addressed first. We've done that. Now it's a matter of finding an elite pass rusher and elite reciever.
Say hello to Michael Floyd or Mohamed Sanu.

Did you have the game on mute yesterday? Simms and Nance both were talking about how the Bills receivers just weren't getting open.

You hit the nail on the head Shaunta. If we want to contend for the playoffs then we have to win games like that. Yeah 10 sacks against the redskins was pretty sweet, but when you can't beat the teams that stand directly in your way like the Jets then the other wins don't really matter. The Bills took a few steps backwards yesterday that is for sure.

I think a healthy Easley would change everything, but it's kind of like Buddy Nix putting all his eggs in the Merriman basket for a pass rush...

I don't know if I'd want them to take that chance again with Easley's injury history...

To be honest, I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see the Bills pass on taking a receiver early next year. I think they are still holding out hope for Easley and like what they see in Jones.

If the Bills go receiver, I think it will be someone in the slot since Roscoe is a FA and more than likely won't be re-signed.

I'm not sure the Bills will be picking high enough for Floyd...

The Bills are probably going to end up with a pick in the late teens or early twenties...

I don't know about slot reciever, but I agree with you. Pass Rush is killing us more than lack of wide recievers IMO.

I like Easley too but we can't go into next year depending on him to be that guy. Anything he gives us is just added bonus.

I like the core of Johnson, Jones, Nelson, Easley & Roosevelt if they decide to keep him but another WR like Floyd or Sanu would give us the best WR corp next to the GB Packers who have Jennings, Driver, Nelson, Jones, Cobb, Crabtree.

I've never been a conspiracy theorist regarding refs and the NFL but I'm starting to believe the NFL is going to do everything possible to make sure the Jets are atleast in the playoff hunt.

The got the same calls against the Chargers as they did against us.

I'm hoping we pick in the early twenties but he could still be there. Just projecting as of right now but I think his character concerns drop him a little bit.

He's as every bit as good as Blackmon imo and he has Jeffrey beat but those character concerns might drop his stock a little bit. He's slated anywhere from 15-25 right now.

Stranger things have happened. Dez Bryant a much more talented WR coming out dropped to the mid 20's so we'll see.

I would like to see our receivers as:

    Johnson
1st or 2nd round draft pick (outside receiver)
    Jones
    Nelson
Mid Round draft pick (slot receiver)
    Easley

I too was brought back down to reality. and learned a tough lesson, even as old as I am, to not set such high expectations nor hopes on this team until they have ALL the tools to be a contender. I feel it starts with coaching, both on offense and defense as well as the QB position with no deep threat in the passing game. with the type of offense we run, spread, screens and short passes opposing teams can study(as the Jets did)and expose us, and shut it down.

reality checks can be a bummer sometimes..

Jones looked good in the slot last year albeit limited opportunities. I don't know if Jairus Wright and Kendall Wright are physical enough to play outside and again I'm not really holding my breath with Easley.

    1. Defense was better then it had been all season.
    2. How will a deep threat help if the QB can't get him the ball?

That is not a hard throw to make, its the stick throws in tight windows to the numbers that Fitz can not make. And he missed Jones twice deep so I don't see how getting a "deep threat" will help if Fitz can't get the ball to him.

What about Ryan Broyles? His stock will drop considerably with his injury so could be had later on.
