    Yes. Of course.

Franchise tag for a WR was $9.5 mil this year.

Johnson is going to want $7-8 mil/year anyways.

That's hardly a lot more money.

Well, let us hope we're under new ownership by then.

You are right that there is a significant chance Stevie Johnson gets a crazy offer from another team. Do we all remember Nate Clements $70 million deal to go play for the 49ers? Could you blame him for taking that offer? What if the same happens with Stevie?

If someone offers Stevie Johnson $50 million for 5 years, are we going to match that?

....man we better draft a WR higher rather than later this year....

There is no excuse for Johnson to not be re-signed. If we dont pay him what he deserves and then some, then he will be somewhere else tearin it up.

Knowing this team and how they operate, I would be shocked to see him sign a long term deal here.

If by #1 WR you mean, "a player who can out-duel the best CB in the league (Derell Revis)", then... Yes, Stevie is a legit #1 WR.

Too bad Steve-O doesn't have a QB capable of getting him the ball. The Bills should have locked up Stevie & Fred, and then looked to the draft for a legit QB.

Franchise tag is probably an option if Stevie turns down the offer the Bills are going to make to him.

There is nothing else more the team could do to show the fan base they don't want to win but to let Steve Johnson walk.

I will not support a team that blatenly doesn't care.
You are now. They don't care now and it is obvious. They all suck. Johnson is done. Why would he want to play for this crapola? i hope he does leave, just like I was happy for Evans to get the hell out of Buffalo.

he has no choice because the bills will franchise him and anyone who thinks they wont is flat out stupid.

if they let one of their stars walk a guy who puts fans in the seats it would amount to financial suecide.

If the Bills don't franchise him then this rebuild plan by Nix is going to be pushed back even more. They will then need 2 WRs, atleast 2 OLB, long term QB, CB, and possibly RB because if Spiller busts, and by the time the rebuild is finished Jackson will be old. I doubt Nix can get all that in 1 - 2 years not to mention the Bills still need a lot of luck with their current players continuing to develop.

Let him walk. He drops the ball at big moments. You can't do that as a legit #1. Speaking of his game against Reavis; where has he been since? I like him and think he is a good player but come on, he is not the second coming. At the risk of sounding like a homer, he can be replaced.

he had 100+ yards today??? WR is a need for thos team even if he is here. If he leaves that leaves even more holes for a team already lacking in talent. Smart idea.

So your idea of a legit #1WR is one that drops the ball when the game is on the line. So what, he played good for 3qt against Revis but the qt that mattered he sucked. If we can draft someone like Blackmon or Floyd or sign someone like Vincent Jackson or M. Colston, Johnson will be the #2WR.

Do you really think I care what you think of my sign?

    exactly....

I love the "fans" who justify letting stevie walk because he's not an Andre Johnson type #1 reciever. Most of these people are bitter because they were wrong about him being good (flafitz) or their morals were offended by him.

LMAO because Colston and Jackson are leaving their teams to come to Buffalo.

I'm trying to figure out where I put an idea in there. I'll simplify this for you: I think he is highly overrated. He seemed non existant for a person over 100 yards. I'd rather keep him but won't cry if he leaves.

Fans like you are the ones that pander to this organizations conduct the past 12 SEASONS. Let me ask you a simple question... If they choose not to resign Stevie, what makes you think they'll spend the big bucks to get one of those big market high priced guys you mentioned. Why would they come HERE anyway!? lol Secondly, whose the last block buster guy, outside of the publicity stunt of Terrell Owens, has OBD brought in here??? hahahahahaha...
