I don't care how many it was. The fact remains that arguing that he doesn't deserve the INTs because of bad luck on tipped passes is still a ridiculous argument. He throws a ton of bad passes. The ones that get tipped from his WRs and turned into INTs are negated by the ton of passes that hit defenders and are not picked off. In which I know there were a lot more than were picked on tipped passes.

If Fitz or any other QB throws a good pass right into the numbers and its not caught and tipped into the air, that is not the QBs fault. PERIOD.
I hate that QBs are the only ones who get stuck with the bad stat and idiot message board GMs that dont even watch games read how many Ints a QB has and assume that he must have throw a bad pass to get an Int when in fact the pass wasnt bad at all.

Does the same apply for all the bad passes where the D should have picked it off, but dropped it, or the WR made a good "break-up" play?
The point is, these things even out over 16 games. You get some breaks, you miss some.
Fitz still threw 19. Sure it coulda been 14...but it coulda been 24 too.

who really cares? Kelly had big intercept numbers too!
Must be nice for Sanchez throwing to first round receivers and tight ends...

my only argument to that would be that when Fitz had guys who could get separation and knew where to be on time through the first 7 games he was a more than competent--> good QB. When the offense had the ball I had confidence some points would be scored. So we do have a sample where he had an "able" WR core and he no one would have complained about Fitz at 5-2. When the team started mixing in Ruvell, Brad, and other Random PS players he stunk.
Since the team is seemingly committed to him for a couple more years let's get some talent around him and see what he can do. If nothing else at least when the next guy comes in he has some weapons.
What would you be doing if nothing were impossible...
The Bills should give New England a good game sunday. I hope that the Bills show up angry. Give it their all. I believe that if they do that, they'll have a legit chance to beat these guys again.

Chan Gailey 12/26/2010 - Pass rush would of helped a couple of those. That guy (Tom Brady) stood back there forever and someone finally come open.
My response would be that early on this team was playing with confidence and it elevated their level of play. QB included.
To put enough weapons around Fitzpatrick in order to get this team to the playoffs you would have to add far too many pieces for it to be realistic. Or a smothering D.

To add to that....
We could have very easily lost the Oak & NE game. In fact we should have.
I'm thrilled we won, but those were once in a season comebacks, and heck, we did it back to back.
It created a lot of HYPE when the truth was known all along: Chan Gailey - "we're doing it with smoke & mirrors."
The smoke has cleared. We lack talent and Fitz is not who we hoped he could be.

It could of went either way. The Raiders and Patriots comebacks were huge at the time. The team lost some close games to @ Bengals, @ Giants, @ Jets and the home games vs the Titans and Dolphins. Also the team got blown out a few times too. It's all on the coaches and injuries. I'm not sold on Fitzpatrick. However, if they can surround him with better talent he could be a game manager until they get someone better. If the Bills won them close games they'd be sitting in or close to a playoff spot tonight.

My problem with Fitzpatrick as a game manager is the topic of this thread. A game managing QB needs to be one that takes care of the ball so Fitzpatrick's tons of INTs is exactly what you don't want out of a game manager type of QB. Also he doesn't fit the play making QB because of his anemic YPA.

I hear ya. But failing to perform against the GIANTS / JETS / BENGALS....cannot be compared to blowing a 20 pt lead.
Those 2 early games were CRAZY!!!! We have one of the worst defenses in the league, and we never gave up any 20+ pt leads!!!!
Our losses in the previously mentioned games, were simply coming up short in key times. Something, as Bills fans, we've seen plenty of over the last decade.

Philip Rivers is on that 19 INT list, too. Is he not a good QB?

Fitzpatrick is the best quarterback by a mile after bledsoe and people need to realize that he is not drew, aaron or brady!
