He's still a solid run defender and we need depth. Unless someone agrees to take on his starter money contract, which is possible, and offers at least a 3rd round pick or better, he stays.

This allows us to focus in on WR, CB, OT and OL/LB depth. If the real values are in the middle rounds as Buddy suggests, that could be good news for up and coming teams to take a step up by filling multiple holes. This draft also seems strong in our positions of need.

You are incorrect sir. Kelsay is well loved at OBD and is a natural 4-3 DE. Merriman goes before Kelsay, 100%

Just reviewed your comment and you are WAY off. Kelsay is a natural 4-3 DE and will play opposite of Mario as the starter (most likely RDE). Merriman is better suited as a 3-4 OLB which we don't play anymore. Kelsay is pretty good against the run as well and Merriman, if healthy, will be nothing more than a situational pass rusher. Plus the BILLS gave Kelsay a big contract and have continually stated how much they like his work ethic, leadership etc. I know most people on here have it in for Kelsay but he stays before Merriman almost a lock

That is laughable - just laughable - that you think Kelsay is worth a 3rd round pick.

Edwards, Spencer and Kelsay need to go IMO. My bet would be that Kelsay ends up in some type of consultant role with the team. I'm telling you, he has to have pictures of someone way up at OBD...........

If you didn't notice... the good teams don't cut their decent starters. They keep them and get a better starter.

Stop talking about who to cut.
    Amen to that!

My bad, I did not look up the figures. If that is his base salary, then he'll be retained at least for this year.

Oh please, people. Kelsay just signed a multiyear deal and he's considerably better than many on this board seem to think. Besides, why would they just release him? He can start for a lot of teams and most definitely has trade value. What's up with you guys?

Yes we know he's not a double digit sack guy, but he's still a very solid run defender and quality depth.

OK then a 4th or even a 5th, but he's not going anywhere anyways, so what does it matter?

If you see a pass rushing DE drafted in the top 4 picks, his days as a Bill would seem bleak, if not he will still be on this roster in 2012.
My way too early 2014 1st round prediction- TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins- Washington... The Bills have never had a Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Gates type. They will select Jenkins and give Manuel another weapon to work with. http://youtu.be/lPZ5ZDWEADo
