A coverage linebacker like Keuchly or another top notch corner to team with AJ Williams. I really think the picks will come down to these three guys.

I kind of like your mock. I don't know much about Bobby Wagner though. What can you give me?
A third choice would be an elite safety. I think a safety which can cover a slot receiver and tackle a big RB is a bigger asset than a coverage LB for sure, and probably a bigger asset than a second cover corner.

cant say i really agree with this. the bills safetys are actually pretty **** legit as they are right now. not that bleacher report is exactly the greatest source but they recently counted down the top 32 stong safetys in the nfl and out boy georgie wilson was #2 behind only troy polomanu. byrd has shown he can be a ball hawk from the free safety spot also and i think these guys can really come together with a pass rush. now, in regards to the original question i think a cb would make MUCH more sense than keuchly. if were going for a lb it should be a game changer. this guy has poz 2.0 written all over him. they could really use an elite cb.
I agree Buffalo has 2 good safeties.
The post asked about a cover LB vs a cover corner, and I think a third safety would trump the other two positions. Wanny has never really had great LBs- he can plug just about any veteran LB in and get success, what is really needed for Buffalo is a third safety to handle the NE TEs. This safety can cover WRs, slot players, tackle RBs and play nickel LB on first down and nickel back on 3rd down.
BTW we already have that player, his name is D'Norris Searcy.
If the second corner the OP spoke of is not a cover corner, no way is that player more valueable than a LB of any kind (we are really weak at LB). However if the choice is between a marginal corner, a cover LB or something else in round 3, I would suggest we can never have enough safeties or DBs in general which can cover TEs and play the run.
Wilson is not the same kind of safety Palumalu is, and that was direction of my response (find that elite safety).

kuechly is overrated. id rather have a cb, but id rather have floyd and martin than a cb too.

First and foremost We need somebody who can cover Welker in the slot. If I have to watch him scorch the Lb'ers and secondary for 216 yds again, I am going to throw up.
You draft Kuechly with his 4.5 speed in the 1st and than you take Josh Robinson CB from UCF who runs a 4.3 40.
With Kuechly playing SAM and Robinson as your Nickel CB you essentially negate the middle of the field, where Welker does 99.9 % of his damage.
Believe it or not, Brady doesnt throw a great deep ball with any consistant accuracy, which is why the pats offense is predicated on what Welker/Gronk/Hernandez can do from their in-line positions. Which is also why the Pats can routinely go into the season with over-the-hill, long in the tooth Edge receivers.
to win this division we need to pressure Brady, which they have addressed that with Williams and Anderson, now we have to be able to cover Welker and Gronk.
Draft Kuechly and Robinson and we are able to do this IMO.
2012 Draft

2.Coby Fleener,TE/Shea Mcclellin,DE
3.Trumaine Johnson,CB/Bobby Massie,OT

5b.B.J. Coleman,QB/Russell Wilson,QB
6.Adrian Hamiliton,DE/LB/Ryan Steed,CB
7.Kellen Moore,QB/Shawn Loiseau,LB
I think their worth is about the same...
If they all pan out and become all pro's then I can't really decide if an Urlacher or Willis would be more important or if Revis would be the guy...

Kuechly would be your mike, no way Shep beat him out.
As for OPs question, I think it's a toss-up IF you're talking about very good players available at #10. Given today's rules, it's virtually impossible for any CB to cover a WR for any length of time consistently. And in our scheme I'd expect alot of zone anyways - our CBs will need to be physical and good tacklers as well. The latter is what makes the idea of Samuel ridiculous.
Kyle Williams: “But when you go inside those lines, all those things fall by the wayside. If you’re not out there for the right reasons, and that’s to beat a man, win a football game, you’re not going to last very long. This game is whip or be whipped, and I don’t like being whipped.”"

Regardless of what we do at the OLB/CB/S positions, I think we've done a good job of disrupting Welker up until now- but let me finish explaining: Welker rolled up a lot of yards because he was catching balls after crossing the entire field even when we covered him or disrupted him. This was a case of Brady having WAY too much time. I think you'll see that even guys like Welker won't be as effective with our new pass rush.
Two players in the second that no ones really mentioning but both can play CB/S is Harrison Smith from Notre Dame and Trumane Johnson from Montana. I also expect we'll start to here more about Mark Barron at ten as the draft gets closer, I don't think we need a S but Wilson isn't getting any younger and do they feel Searcy can be a starter, or just the third S on the team? That's a question they may wait till next season to address but Johnson and Harrison can play CB and switch to S in 2013 if needed.
I've been to the top, there's not a lot of oxygen there, so I'm fine where I'm at.
To answer the question... i believe the draft has proven out that Corner is the position that takes priority.
Just look at the top 10 over the past few years, or the first round as a whole...
Going back the last 3 years... Rolando McClain, Sean Witherspoon, Aaron Curry & Brian Cushing are the only LB's taken in the first round by a 4-3 team. McClain is debatable, Oakland switches up so much it's hard to say what he plays.
There have been 10 DB's (Counting Malcom Jenkins as a corner) over that same 3 year span taken in the 1st round.
So the simple answer is Corner is the premium position over LB in a 4-3 defense.
Mock Draft:
1) OT - Cordy Glenn - Georgia
2) OLB - Lavonte David - Nebraska
3) WR - AJ Jenkins - Illinios or Chris Givens - Wake Forrest
4) CB - Josh Norman - Costal Carolina
4) QB - BJ Coleman - Tennessee-Chattanooga
5) DE - Jake Bequette - Arkansas
5) C - Mike Brewster - Ohio State
6) WR - Junior Hemmingway - Michigan
7) TE - Kevin Kroger - Michigan
7) CB - Ryan Steed - Furman
In today's pass all day leagues I'd take a corner over a linebacker period. Linebackers arent valued like they once were. Valuable? Yes, like everyone position on the football field, but not as 'valuable' as a CB IMO
