Problems with the Message Board (note: functionality, please)

BillsMod has been tinkering with the settings on the message board (trying to deal with the spam bot problem, among others). If you are experiencing problems starting threads (needing moderator approval) or other issues, it is likely because of this.

Please use this thread to document any problems you are experiencing on the message board.

No, there are a number of functions that are not working, so I'm glad you posted this. We need to get a list of all the functions that are not working properly.

Advanced Search doesn't work but there's a workaround. Right click on the 'Search' feature in the top menu and choose 'Open Link in New Window'. You get the old 'Advanced Search' page.

I noticed that if you click on a poster's User Name, none of the options work i.e. View Public Profile, Send a Private Message, etc.

I have one...It had linked images, so maybe that's what is triggering the approval.

I'm no rocket surgeon, but wouldn't the spam-bot issue be easy to stop if the board were set to have the first, say, 5 posts by any poster need to get moderator review before they 'go public'.

LOL... good job on the nuke. I nuked one four minutes after it registered. Could tell just by the username "aougirhiuqhruhqyub" or some such jibberish.

I'm nuking all new usernames like it.


Sigh... sadly I think it probably won't be until AM when Gregg will turn off registration. Again.
