    I don't know how much of a pain it is to open and close registration, but as a temporary solution you could only open registration for short periods of time. Post a thread saying registration will be open from 6 - 8 pm EST Tuesday for example so people can reigster if they want. Maybe do it a couple times a week at different times so people that work wierd shifts or live in different time zones can get on.

    I am not sure if I am being blocked from adding threads because I just became a member (after 2 weeks of trying) or if their is a problem.
