I think it's between Barron and Kuechly, unless Kalil miraculously falls.

Buddy wants an impact player, and those are probably the two best in the draft.

    ----

Given how much we use our Nickel Package, and how effective George Wilson has been as an In the Box safety in the past (combined with our use of Brian Scott as a hybrid LB in the past), I think the Bills could view Barron as a player they could use all over the place.

As the NFL becomes more and more pass heavy, I think the future of the NFL is to have an awesome Nickel Package that can both defend the run and the pass, by having a physical 5th DB who can play up around the LOS and function in a hybrid LB/SS/Nickel Corner.

That's how Green Bay has essentially used Charles Woodson the past few years, as they use their Nickel Package the vast majority of the time they're on D.

With Barron in the mix, and us lacking a true SLB, I can see us lining up a ton in:

    ------------------ Byrd -------------------------- Barron
    ------------------------- Barnett ----- Sheppard -------- Wilson
    Florence -------- Anderson - Dareus - Williams - Williams -------- Williams

I think that could be defending both the run and the pass....

The reason its not Barron IMO is because the Bills dont let stuff like this leak.

I'd add if Blackmon/Kalil/Claiborne fall, they are the pick!

If not, Kuechly, Barron or Kirkpatrick are the players I can see being the #10

Anyone could be the Bills pick. He's just seeing what sticks to the wall so afterward he can say

"I thought they would pick him"

    Barron, Gilmore, Kuechly

Not necessarily in that order but those are the three guys being talked about the most as being the pick, Kirkpatrick is someone else being talked about but he's likely the last of the four options. Unless they either trade down or a top player drops to them I believe one of those three will be in Buffalo.
I've been to the top, there's not a lot of oxygen there, so I'm fine where I'm at.

Forget need. Unless you have a young top talent you believe in then you have a need. George Wilson does not prevent us from drafting Barron. Just like Kirk Morrison doesnt prevent us from drafting Kuechly or Florence doesnt prevent us from drafting Gilmore or Fitazpatrick doesnt prevent us from drafting Tannehill.

I just don't see the need for drafting a safety that high really, especially w/ Wilson & Byrd on the roster today.

hoping Dallas really covets either guy, probably Barran and the Bills could get another 2nd day pick from them

Im guessing someone @ OBD floated this rumor out there to get Dallas or NE to move up...No way do we value S or CB at this point...

I raised my kids as Bills fans, should social services be talking to me about that ? Is that a form of child abuse ?

In today's NFL you use your Nickel Package about as often as you use your Base Package. Accordingly, you need 5 quality DBs who can both defend the pass and stop the run.

If we add Baron to the mix, that would allow us to keep 3 high quality safeties on the field which would allow us to defend the run better than if we have to use 3 corners.

With Barron, either he or George Wilson could function as our Nickel Back/Strong Side Linebacker, and knowing that they're both strong run defenders, that would allow us to solidify our run D when we have to bring a 5th DB on the field to defend 3-wide sets that we see.

Wilson played out of his mind last year, and Byrd is as solid as they come.

wasted move. i hope the Bills are just saying this to make the pick look a lot more attractive to potential suitors.
