I would do it for pick 5 or 6. Trading up to 3 would be a bit expensive. Its very possible we are thinking Vikes go Claiborne so that way we could trade with TB

If we move up and trade a 2nd for Matt Kalil we would have one of the best Olines & Dlines in the NFL and we would still have the picks to get back into the 2nd round for a wr like Randle or Jeffery.

Default Has anyone ever traded up for a left tackle?

Ever in the history of the draft? I can't remember a single time. Maybe it's not the type of position that you would trade up for.

Trent Edwards, JP Losman, JaMarcus Russell, just to name a few. I think Fitz is better then they are. The players love playing for this guy too. For crying out loud TRENT DILFER, let me do that again, TRENT DILFER, won a super bowl. REX GROSSMAN made it to the super bowl. If we put an awesome d together we have a shot.
No, if we put a once in a lifetime D then maybe. People act as if it's a simple thing to do.
Fitz isn't it, he never will be and he stunk it up before he was hurt too.

09 -- Baltimore traded up to get Michael Oher

10 -- San Fran traded up for Anthony Davis

08 -- KC traded up for Branden Albert (with DET who took Cherlius on the trade-down)

08 -- ATL traded up for Sam Baker

Happens often enough. Results are mixed, but none of these tackles had any sort of the hype that Kalil does.

Many said the same things about Mike Williams and a plethora of other can't miss tackles. OT tackle is difficult for a young player to come into the NFL and play well. Anointing him Jesus Christ already is downright silly.

We are not trading up for a Tackle. Buddy will only trade up for a QB if thinks one is worthy.

His sarcasm has some truth to it. This team needs a QB, a guy who will play the position on a more consistent basis than the under talented Fitzpatrick. We need all the picks we can get for next year, at least to attempt to get one. Nix has to get one very soon, Fitz is not going to be here for more than 3 years.

Really now? Go ask Tyron Smith or Jake Long or Ryan Clady or Joe Thomas how hard it is to play tackle in the NFL at a young age.

They all did it, and did it VERY well. (granted, Smith was RT, but is now shifted to LT)

    Kalil is of that caliber.

It'd be nice to have a potential perennial all pro lt in buffalo for the next 10-12 years. Also goes along with what Nix has preached all along, fortifying the trenches. I hate the idea of giving up a 2nd this year personally... We have to many needs still, and we need 3 starters out of this draft.

its a smoke screen.....scare the hell out of 14-18 and make them think you are taking Barron, which builds value at 10. Scare the hell out of 6 and make them think you trade up for Kalil, which means they panic, and we get Blackmon. Scare the hell out of 3 and make them think you wont offer more than a 2nd to trade up, which sets the bar too high for anybody else to trade up....."posion the well"!!

Buddy is doing maximum damage here.....I love it!!!
I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there; if you like it, you can take it, if you don't, send it right back. I want to be on you.

Wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I... I wanna be on you.

you do realize that the game has changed since the quote about spending on FA's due to the new CBA right?

the bills choose to spend the money this year rather than wait untill next year and 2014 when its mandatory to spend to the cap.

seeing there was the top DE in the league available THIS year it was actually a move of genius to do it this year with williams and anderson since it was the #1 position of need on this team.

Nix didnt change they changed the rules on him and he adjusted he should be applauded not disrespected.

actually he was happy to replace poz with shepard. do you fault him for the jags loosing their mind and paying a 2 down LB 7 million a year.

if Nix pulls off another good draft or God forbid somehow gets his hands on kalil or trades down and gets glenn he should be a major cantidate for GM of the year.

What amazes me is yesterday Casserly was reporting he had excellent information the Bills are going to take Tannehill if he's there at 10

So which is it? Excelllent information they are staying put at 10 and taking Tannehill should he be there or excellent information that they are going to move up and take Kalil, Charley?

    2013 Draft
1st) Keenan Allen WR - Cal
2nd) EJ Manuel QB - FSU
3rd) Chase Thomas OLB - Stanford
4th) Darius Slay CB - Miss St
5th) Matt Scott QB - Arizona
6th) Jake Stoneburner TE - Ohio St

With the draft just a day away I like what I put up but I'm switching Allen to the 2nd and moving Manuel to the 1st

ya i understand a third round pick more times than not lands you a blue chip player are you freaking kidding me?

if we move from 10 to 5 thats 4 spots and we get the top 3 rated player in this draft you really think that third rounder we give up this year and maybe next year is going to be on par with one of the only 5 or 6 true blue chip players in his draft.

also if we do get kalil we will have our pro bowl LT we have been missing for the next 10 years, you find them players in the third round all the time, unreal!

    give me a freaking break!
