See the one thing people are not understanding as we inch closer and closer to the draft Kalil is not being considered a FRANCHISE LT. Is the kid top tier sure, is the kid worthy of being selected so high... I don't think so. Kalil does not grade out as well as Joe Thomas or as well as Long. Heck I would even say not as well as Clady either.

Mind you, I am a big time USC fan and I am a homer big time. As much as I like Kalil I just don't think you can give up picks to get the kid. If Kalil slipps to ten than by all means but even then I am skeptical.

That's a pretty strong statement, especially if you are a big USC fan.

I would be all for it.

If the Bills trade away their 2nd rd pick then I would expect some decent post draft veteran FA action to shore up some depth needs that didn't get filled
Watch out AFC.. The Beast of the East is merely napping

saved for future reference...in regards to 2013 QB's.

All that needs to be said about the QBs is that they're all flawed and mediocre and shouldn't be taken anywhere in the first round. None of them.

In all fairness not every pick will pan out and when you read more and more about Kalil you see the words like "possibly" and "potentially" not "franchise". Keep in mind the Vikings have just as much a need for an OT as Buffalo. Regardless if you agree with them taking Ponder they did and they need to protect that investment. Yet they are willing and wanting to move out of the #3 spot where they have Kalil for the taking.

I do admit the Vikings could trade with the Bucs and still land Kalil but why risk it? What if Buffalo does indeed trade with the Browns at #4 and take Kalil infront of the Vikings? Yes they ttake Claiborne but either way shows how a team with the need and ability rates Kalil.

Bills-Bucs Trade - I reported yesterday that the Bucs and Vikings could complete a draft day trade which would enable the Bucs to move ahead of the Browns for Alabama HB Trent Richardson, and while that deal could still be completed, another potential deal is in the works.
If the Vikings take CB Morris Claiborne at No. 3, and the Browns select HB Trent Richardson at No. 4, the Bucs will want to move down and out of their pick at No. 5, since their top two targets will have already come off the board, which opens the door for an on the clock deal between the Bills and Bucs. The Bills would send the Bucs pick No. 10 in the first round, along with their second round pick No. 41 to move up for USC OT Matt Kalil, the player the Bills covet in the draft. The Bucs would move down to No.10, and still have a good shot at taking Boston College LB Luke Kuechly, a player the Bucs are targeting in the draft. An agreement between the two teams may have already been reached, with the trade being completed on the clock, if Matt Kalil slips to the Bucs pick at No. 5. -Al Fronczak (10:33 a.m. ET)

This leaves us a great trading partner in Tampa Bay. The Bills will trade our first and second round picks to Tampa and get back a 5th rounder. The Bills will shock the world when they select Ryan Tannehill QB TXAM. This entire smoke screen is to keep Miami frozen in their draft spot. If they believe that the Bills are looking to move up for Kalil then they won't be trying to move up for Tannehill.

Hmmmm. Interesting but wouldn't we rather trade with Jacksonville who is desperately trying to trade down and only trade away a 3rd instead of a 2nd?

Jacksonville can still get their guy Ingram/Gilmore/Kirkpatrick/Cox/Floyd at #10.

Here is the problem with that. Kalil will already be gone and the Dolphins will know something is up. All Jacksonville has to do at that point is call the Dolphins and ask for a better deal.

You blew it for us now!
What if a Miami fan is looking at our MS Board now.
Then they go back to their draft board and post what you posted.
Now either a higher up Dolphin official can read it and ponder on your idea and react
    OR
Someone twitters it and it goes around and around until it hits a legit Dolphin executive and reads it and ponders and then whole draft is changed from your post.

Don't know if they would take Tannehill, but it doesn't make sense to give up picks to move up and get a LT if you don't have a stud quarterback to begin with. Kalil has a chance to be elite, but it doesn't make sense when Fitz is a dink and dunk quarterback that gets the ball out quickly. Even if he had more time, I highly doubt he could make an accurate throw down the field.

Good thing is, we have two 4ths and 2 5ths to use as trade power to move back up to the 2nd if we desire. If you think about it like this then we could still wind up with an elite LT in the 1st, a very good WR in the 2nd lose our 3rd probably but still have a 4th and 2 5ths, a 6th, and two 7ths for everything else.
OBD's draft V.S. my real time draft:

    1) Manuel (QB) - 1) Manuel (QB) Like it
2a) Woods (WR) - 2) Woods (WR) Love it
    2b) Alonso (MLB) - 2b) Dallas Thomas (G)
    3) Goodwin (WR) - 3) Cory Lemonier (OLB/DE)
    4) Williams (S) - 4) Shamarko Thomas (S)
    5) Meeks (S) - 5) Da'Rick Rogers (WR)
    6) Hopkins (K) - 6) Hopkins (K) Great pick
    7) Gragg (TE) - 7) Jordan Poyer (CB)

I asked and was told it's possible we can make the trade without giving up the 2nd RD pick and could likely make the deal giving up a 3rd and 5th. Of course this would mean that Claiborne goes 3 and Richardson goes 4, doesn't think TB will trade if either of those guys are there.
I've been to the top, there's not a lot of oxygen there, so I'm fine where I'm at.
