    Default Trade up partner speculation

With the report by NFL Network’s Charley Casserly that the Bills are trying to find a way to move up to land USC OT Matt Kalil, here’s an educated guess as to where they will look to move to get that accomplished. First and foremost the Bills are unlikely to orchestrate a trade up to [...]

Yep, TB at 5 is where it makes the most sense to trade up to if Kalil gets past 3.

It would cost far too much to go from 10 to 5. We could really use a franchise LT, but it has been noted that even Cleveland has a franchise LT and isn't getting anywhere. The Rams have a franchise QB and they aren't getting anywhere either. You are only as strong as your weakest link and trading up doesn't make sense until you are solid enough elsewhere to do so. This team needs LT, WR, LB, CB, TE, QB and depth everywhere. If this year's draft is excellent and we re-sign next offseason, like this year, then trading up for impact makes sense...but not yet.

Again, EVERY team in the league has holes on their roster! If you have a chance to add an elite talent by moving up from 10 to 5 then you do it. Especially when it's the biggest need on the roster and when the Jets and Pats are probably going to load up on pass rushers this draft.

The 9'ers had a hole at QB last year and made it to the NFC championship. The Packers had one of the worst Ds in the league and won 15 games. The Pats had no pass rush to speak of and won 13 games.

Adding Mario and Anderson makes the secondary better, and adding Kalil would make Fitz and the whole offense better. Plus if you havent noticed we have a cupcake schedule this year, so now may not be the worst time to make a move...

Of course every team has holes in the roster, but this team has tanked two years in a row due to lack of depth to keep aflot when injuries hit.

So giving up one pick (supposedly a 2nd) will doom this team's depth??

Lets take a look at Buddy's 2nd round picks here: Torell Troup was a complete non-factor his rookie year, and was injured most of last year. Williams looks like he can be solid but he only played half the season last year.

And if Buddy really wanted a player in the 2nd round, he could always package a 3+4 to move up, and still have a 4th to play with and two 5ths.

Well worth it to get one of the best and safest picks in this draft.

The schedule is probably the reason they went after mario and anderson and gave stevie big money as well.

The cost is to swap picks and our 2nd round pick this year, based off the 'Draft Value trade chart' that is about all over the place. The 5th pick is worth 1700 points, while the 10th is worth 1300 points. We have #41 in the second round, which equals 490 points. 1300 + 490 = 1790. We might even persuade them to give us an extra 5th rounder in return, which is worth about 40 points.

I don't consider that to be inordinately expensive tbh.
People should understand that the name on the front of the uniform is more important than the one on the back.

Why bother drafting worse players than you already have on your roster?

If the Vikings pass on Kalil then it opens the door for the Bills to trade up and get either Blackmon or Kalil. If the Vikings don't take Kalil at 3, you better not stray to far from the TV tonight.

The most logical speculation, and also the most abundant is that they would take Claiborne....

No it doesn't, a lot of people think they could go Claiborne because of the division they play in.

Yeah but what's the chances the Vikings pass on Kalil? Every Mock draft I see has them taking him.

Its funny because ive been saying since March that Minn wants Claiborne now all these reports are coming out. I think there's a good chance Minn passes on Kalil. If he was there guy they wouldn't be desperately trying to trade out of 3.

One reason this could be true, is that the teams from 6-9 all have at least two similar needs to us. Meaning that they are in position to beat us to the punch on someone we need in both rounds. The only way to even get one player we really need before they do is to get infront of them. So if you're going to jump infront of them, might as well do it in the first round.

What amazes me is yesterday Casserly was reporting he had excellent information the Bills are going to take Tannehill if he's there at 10

So which is it? Excelllent information they are staying put at 10 and taking Tannehill, should he be there, or excellent information that they are going to move up and take Kalil, Charley?

    2013 Draft
1st) Keenan Allen WR - Cal
2nd) EJ Manuel QB - FSU
3rd) Chase Thomas OLB - Stanford
4th) Darius Slay CB - Miss St
5th) Matt Scott QB - Arizona
6th) Jake Stoneburner TE - Ohio St

With the draft just a day away I like what I put up but I'm switching Allen to the 2nd and moving Manuel to the 1st
