PTR is a good fella who just gets a little passionate defending his QB like the rest of you.

He probably is. Just making light of the situation at the expense of the word "crap"

That's why we are thinking of signing Vince Young. He'll make Fitz look great in comparison.

He's horrible. He was horrible last year with the Eagles. And he was like Tebow in TN...his team won some games but it was not because of him. Do you really think we can win throwing the ball 10-15 times a game? That's the only chance you have to win with Young and that's just not going to work here.

with our running game and defense, what makes you so sure we can't win football games without throwing the football?

One way to cut down on interceptions is to run the football a lot more and stick with the run throughout the entire game. I'm hoping an improved defense and more confidence by Chan in the run blocking as well as both rbs will allow this to happen.

Some picks were not his fault, some where.

He's a marginal starting QB who can flash greatness as long as his offense is top notch, but a tremendous backup.

    Agreed.

Fitz should be throwing the ball as much as Alex Smith.

His athleticism alone takes pressure off the rest of the offense. He may not be the smartest guy or the best passer, but he can be effective if used properly.

If that is the case, what does it matter if it's Thigpen or Young backing up Fitz?

I see at least a slight chance of an upside/future with VY, Thigpen, not so much, in fact, not at all

This is where Vince Young would fit in..with a full run game. I see Fitz starting out well but then deteriorate as defenses find his flaws, as they did last year after the running game was gone with Jackson. Vince can manage a game and get wins..I know he definitely didn't show it last year in Philly but their OL wasn't that great either. I think Chan can get Vince going in the right direction better than Thigpen. Vince should keep Fitz motivated to do well also. I like the idea. Lets see what happens.

So by all means, tell me what I'm missing,
More injuries then a train wreck with multiple line juggles/center juggles and cracked ribs. Reciever situation and a defense that was one of the worst in the league. We played from behind forcing the issue. All these can and will contribute to INTs.

Brett Farve - dont think I need to say anything here

Tom Brady - How many times did we pick off *the best QB in the league*?

Many star QBs go through INT hell. It happens. Especially when you have a mediocre line and half of your team was put on IR. We had mediocre starters... what do you think the 2nd and 3rd string players were?

Quite a few of his INTs were tipped and dropped passes that were right in the hands of the recievers.

Our Oline was in shambles last year, but the sack numbers were mostly because of the quick release system. However they did do a great job of run blocking.
