Then he'll get on the phone and give the Giants GM a call and see what they want for Osi Umenyiora. Start by offering a 3rd and show you're serious.

Nix wont trade high picks.
Nope. Nix loves the waiver wire
Pros:
1) Osi is a monster.
2) Adding him could make our defense truly elite.
3) He's in a contract year so he'll be super motivated to kill every QB he sees.
4) You can never have enough pass rushers.
Cons:
1) Osi wants to be an undisputed starter and he'll have to play as part of a rotation here.
2) The Giants will probably want too much for him since they can keep him for another year and he has said that he won't hold out.
2B) If we meet the Giants' price, it my limit our ability to trade up for a QB next year if we need one.
3) Osi will probably not sign long-term, he'll want to hit FA for the big payday next year.
All things considered, I think the move would be worth it to push all-in this year. It's about time we stop setting the bar low, aiming just to make the playoffs. Our goal should be the same as the legit franchises around the league, i.e. winning a Super Bowl. Though I'm not sure that Fitzpatrick has what it takes to succeed at the highest level, it has been said and I agree that a QB of his stature is good enough if your defense is historically great. We already look pretty solid with the additions of the offseason thus far, adding Osi could be the piece that pushes us into historically great territory. Worth a shot, IMO.
The Chronicle of Shame
It started with a fiendish plan...
Then a 70-year-old rookie GM.
Criticism followed shortly.
Soon enough the truth to come to light...
Many were confused by this line of "logic".
His work done, Ralph settled in for another nice long rebuild.
