Searched, didn't see this posted, but I guess we did like Cousins and were going to take him in the 4th. I would have thought Wilson would be the target if any QB that early.

The Bills had a terrific draft filling most of their needs, but they had QB Kirk Cousins snatched before their eyes in the fourth round by the Redskins. Cousins was one of two quarterbacks they had in on a private visit, and were poised to take him with their pick in the fourth round.
    2014 Bills Draft:
    1) Greg Robinson (OT)
    2) Kyle Van Noy (OLB)
    3) Ryan Groy (OG)
    4) Dominique Easley (DT) (Inj)
    5) Antone Exum (CB)
    6) Colt Lyerla (TE)
    7) Logan Thomas (QB)

    UDFA:
    Chris Burnette (OG)

    FA:
    Jermaine Gresham (TE)

This is the NFL draft, not a boyscout draft.

    Kinda sucks.

We should have just taken Cousins in the 3rd, and probably still could have had Graham with our 2nd 4th rounder..

I was never really a big fan of Cousins...so I have no feeling on the matter one way or the other...ultimately, I he will probably only amount to a quality backup...but again, it is only my opinion.

On the other hand I would have have loved to have gotten Russell Wilson...I feel he has the potential to be a star in this league, a la Doug Flutie.

Wilson was taken by Seattle in the third, and Cousins earlier in the fourth than the Bills picked. I couldn't remember if the Bills had brought in Cousins along with Tannehill, Osweiller, and Wilson, but bringing in 4 QBs for private visits says that they were serious about taking a QB. It just didn't work out.

If they had taken either Wilson or Cousins in the third, it's likely the same posters now whining about the Bills NOT taking a QB in the draft would have been whining that the Bills "reached" for the one they did take. Some people aren't happy unless they have something to gripe about.
Should have kept Marshawn ... and Andy ... Jairus ...

I suspected this....and was assuming as we started the 4th round that he would slide right past Washington, Jags and Dolphins and Buddy would snag him.

I was shocked when the Skins put in the pick.

I also think the Bills would have taken Tannehill at 10 if Miami didn't. The first round pick is when Buddy makes his best move to make the team better LONG term.

I think the poster is just trying to point out why we shouldn't worry about not taking Cousins when we can just sign Young.

....I've said this for 3 days.....not being more aggressive in getting Cousins in the 3rd or 4th round may haunt this team.....he will eventually be a good starter for someone and we could've had him for nothing.....that's why the Graham pick was so bizzare?

The Bills didn't pass on Cousins. He was gone before their turn in the fourth. Who would have thought that Washington was going to take another QB in the same draft that they took one with the 2nd pick?

I don't know who's dumber: you or Shanahan.

I seriously doubt that. Cousins isn't going to do anything much in Washington because he won't see the field unless Griffin busts.

Sucks for Cousins that the Skins took him. He won't see much time, and if he does, it's because RGIII sucks or is injured.

If the Bills really liked him they would have taken him before the 4th.
    Mock Draft:
1st- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
    2nd- Ja'Wuan James, OT, Tennessee
    3rd- Trent Murphy, DE, Stanford
    4th- Cyril Richardson, OG, Baylor
    5th- Preston Brown, LB, Louisville
    7th- Travis Carrie, CB, Ohio

Wilson would not be a reach in the 3rd. I think the Bills and fans will wish they took Wilson.

He's saying they were in position to take him based on his visit to the team. I don't think that proves they were going to take him...

Don't worry we can trade a 4th round pick for him next season.
