How would it be beneficial to have something thats only open 7 Sundays a year taking up valuable waterfront real estate? And where would you suggest they put it on the waterfront? And how has OP been holding Buffalo back?

The stadium would be a dome, my guess retractable. And I would venture to say, they would have the proper drainage that would allow it to keep it open always for football, knowing how much fans like the open air stadiums. They would close up for other events throughout the year.

What other events? Buffalo doesnt host anything that can't be taken care of at the arena, convention center or Hamburg fairgrounds. And again... where is there enough waterfront space for something of that size? Look at satellite shots of RWS to get an idea of how much space is needed.

I want the stadium right exactly where it is.

Waterfront would crush the tailgate and gameday experience I love when I come to Buffalo.

WHERE??? Any place open along Fuhrmann Blvd couldnt fit UB's Stadium, much less a professional stadium and its associated parking, ticket offices, practice fields, administration buildings, etc.

OMG, google maps it bro! There's plenty of space. Not saying I want it around that area, but there's room down there. If a new stadium was to be built down there, it probably wouldn't take up as much space as the Ralph does. For example, look at how much space Lucas Oil Stadium DOESN'T take up. If it happens, the stadium designers will make it work...

I have Google mapped it, and I am down there frequently. There's no room for anything of that size. Maybe you fit the stadium in there (if its really narrow and skinny), but then where does everyone park? What roads bring you to the stadium? I'll save you the time.... Route 5 is it, and single lane Fuhrmann Boulevard isnt going to handle much of anything. Consider that RWS is bounded by 6 lane (by RWS) Abbott Road, five lane Southwestern Boulevard, four lane Route 20A and the 219, it is ideally suited to handle traffic. There's nothing remotely of that nature near the waterfront.

Again, not saying I'd want anything that way but I think the old Bethlehem Steel site could work if they really wanted a waterfront stadium that badly. SO much space there for a stadium and parking. However, I don't think that would be a good call cause there's no businesses within a close proximity that would really benefit.

First Ed Kilgore Rumors: Jim Kelly has said it a number of times that hes got a "team" or group ready to buy the Buffalo Bills. So when Ralph "dies" or sells the team (which i doubt) Jimbo is ready to set up. So thats old news!

Stadium: Folks we complain about "paying for a new stadium with taxpayers money" Well the 100 million dollar bandaid is avoiding the envidable. The Ralph no matter how much "renovation money" the team or goverment throw at it ..... it wont change it dramatically and in 5 to 10 years the Buffalo Bills will need a new stadium anyways! So why waste 100 mil when you can put that money into a new stadium??

So in other words: WE NEED A NEW STADIUM!

Yep. Biggest worry is a new stadium comes in and makes Bills games corporate America and not what it is supposed to be, FOOTBALL!

keep the seating bowl and build a whole new external stadium on the Ralph's footprint.

a stadium downtown would be a nightmare, imo

The only way the bills survive is by bringing a stadium downtown! Bills fans need to give up on the dream that the "ralph" is a high and mighty stadium! Its old, Falling apart, and out of date!

The traffic either way is a nightmare!

No one has been calling it a high and mighty stadium, in fact most people call it old and outdated. What can be done, though, is a renovation much like what they did at Arrowhead. But I'm with you, a downtown stadium is my vote. It will attract food, hospitality and entertainment venues, improving the economy and quality of life. It will also drive up real estate prices which increases tax revenue. Finally, it will just be **** beautiful to see the Bills stadium in the middle of Buffalo's skyline.

yeah i know ...... I was just wat Gillette stadium this weekend and traveled to pittsburgh earler this summer. If you build a new stadium restaurants and other shops will come! Heniz Field has a bunch of different food places to eat around it .....gillette has patriot place. So yes the outta harbor the Buffalo Bills could make it a 1 of a kind place!

also if fans arent saying its high and mighty: Why does everyone want to stay at the Ralph?? The tailgating wont disappear .... it would just change locations!

retractable roof stadium / new convention center / Hotel : right on the water would be amazing! Generate millions for the buffalo economy and most importantly KEEP THE BILLS IN BUFFALO!

Yes it is impossible, since none of those pictures is vacant land. Picture one is the site of an active Coast Guard station and picture two is the old Bethlehem Steel site which first of all is a brownfield, secondly it is currently an active wind farm, and finally another portion of the property was bought by a Canadian company for manufacturing. The third photo is just the Cowboys stadium on the Coast Guard spot.

Lastly, those two spots are only accessible by Route 5. One way in and one way out is not a good thing, ask Pats fans. Foxboro is notorious for that.
