I don't know why I'm typing this before I log off to go jogging, but here I go.
Growing up in a Giants family, surrounded by Jets fans I was raised to be a Giant fan by my father and uncle. Throughout the years I've notice two sweeping generalizations of both Giants and Jets fans.
Giants have the most band wagon followers who are not really fans of the sport but like the Giants because they win alot of games and are in fashion or in vougue. You won't know true Giants fans until you have a conversation with one who remembers the sad years where the Giants sucked and never made the playoffs because the Eagles beat them every year. These are the true Giants fans. Those that were down during the "miracle at the meadowlands" and still remained a fan.
The Jets fans seem to be pompous, egomaniacs, billigerent douche bags! They don't have bandwagoners muddying up the ranks and are a "next year is our year" mentallity and are forever chasing that "superbowl three" feeling. They are straight foward, always angry, and show their team pride by ripping apart their team and complaining how bad they own team sucks, yet in the same breath, say their team is the best team in the NFL.
Growing up in Giants/Jets town I finally grew up, got my own place and became my own man and decided I want MY own team to root for. I was looking for a team fairly close so I can see them play.
I ruled out the Pats because they get under my skin, I ruled out the angry birds (Ravens) because they aint my style. I hate the redskins uniform and organization and the Eagles are my mortal enemy, instilled in me from my father.
So I decided to go with New York's only football team that plays in New York state and strangely, Canada too. Enter the Buffalo Bills. Since I chose the Bills, I became fascinated by there history and their struggle to one day not only return to greatness, but to finally get the ring they came so close to getting 4 times in a row!
To me, the Bills are like the ultimate tale! A brotherhood of men of exceptional talent trying to return to past greatness and finally achieve what their brothers in the past fell short of obtaining! Can they rebuild and compete again? Can they do it?
I take the lessons of the Bills past a little different. Some say, how can you get there four times and lose? But I say, who can get there four times at all!
The Bills are like my life. I could have been a lot farther along, and a lot of things, I tried to achieve, I failed at! But I keep trying to rebuild, keep trying to get better, keep getting closer and keep fighting and one day I will reach my goal!
I believe I became a fan at the right time, before the bandwagoners! I came in during the transition, during the rebuilding! If we crash and burn I'm still a fan, if we win the big one or even playoffs, I'm still a fan. If I start a family, one day, I'm gonna raise them up as BILLS fans and teach them that life doesn't always go your way, you may lose, and lose bad!!! You may fail at reaching your goal the first four times, but **** it, as long as you're my blood, dust yourself off, get back out there and try again!!!
I admire JIM KELLY, how he stayed in BUFFALO and his efforts for his foundation! I admire how the people of Buffalo made MARIO WILLIAMS welcomed and showed him love and persuaded him to play there, that was awesome!
I admire Buffalo for having a football team, you guys are so fortunate! They may not be the best yet, they may play a game in Canada, but THEY ARE YOUR TEAM!!! THE BUFFALO BILLS, BUFFALO.
Be thankful you have them. Some cities don't have a team and root for another states teams or other city teams. Some people live 15 minutes from a stadium where two teams share one stadium but belong to another state, *ahem*....
Like I said I don't know what's up with me today, I woke up feeling good, checked my emails, came on here to see what's going on and ended up typing this stuff! Now I'm going to go running! BUFFALO BILLS FOREVER!!!! SEE YOU GUYS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEPTEMBER, BUFFALO!!!! BILLS 38 CHIEFS 10![]()
