    That's a modest improvement.

Insert Link, Insert Image, Insert Video do NOT work in IE for me.
The behavior of the input screen is also weird. It frequently does NOT allow me to insert anything except keyboard characters, even blank lines and smilies, before the last character I typed, although it allows me to move the cursor to a spot. It's not quite ready for prime-time, so I'm going back to Firefox for now.

    Google Redefines Browser As Platform

According to StatCounter--one of several sites that keep statistics on Internet usage--Google Chrome became the most widely used browser in June on a global basis. Basing its information on tracking more than 15 billion page views, Chrome surged past Firefox late last year and overtook Microsoft's Internet Explorer in the May-June time frame.
The principal reason for this success, I believe, remains the aspect that initially distinguished Chrome when it was released: its speed. It loads pages visibly faster than all other browsers. Part of this speed is attributable to Google's excellent V8 JavaScript engine, which converts JavaScript into native machine code. The company's relentless pursuit of speed, however, does not stop there. For example, Chrome was the first major browser to render PDF files directly in the browser, rather than calling a plugin that loaded the Adobe Acrobat reader. As a result, PDF documents sprang to life in Chrome, while they seemed to trudge along slowly and inexorably in competing products.

I highly recommend trying Chrome. I will never go back to IE nor my previous secondary browser Firefox.

The Icons on Sub Forums do not change or anything to let you know there are new Posts in them...

There are a lot of Sub Forums I use but rarely went in them unless I seen there was a new post/thread posted.

Still nothing happens when I hit reply to thread. I have to enter an empty message in quick reply then hit enter. Then type when it tells me my message is too short. This is for IE which is all I have at work.

I am also having a horrible time trying to reply to posts. Had to switch computers and keep trying different combinations to be able to reply. Also, having to confirm I want to leave every page is NOT fun.. borderline annoying and getting worse.. please look into that as well..

yeap.. its true folks, BILLY THE BUFFALO is the reason we have not been to the playoffs! The writing is on the wall, its readable if you turn sideways and read every 13th line, Billy is a curse sent from Bud Adams!

those having issues are likely using worthless browsers. this forum is likely up to date state of the art 21st century engine.

those using the old OS such as XP and even Vista and browsing with IE or Mozilla seem to be having issues.

I run Win 7 64 bit home premium and browse with Google Chrome and this forum runs smooth like glass for me. fast, looks great and no issues what so ever.

I suggest upgrading when one can to a more up to date state of the art OS and definitely give Chrome a try.

IE worked for me as well (IE 9)

I posted this with it. it did seem to lag more than Chrome but still was able to use it none the less. So my assessment of IE may be wrong, at least for me and yourself who seem to have no problems. maybe those having problems have issues other than browser.

I still recommend Chrome over IE.

Quick question... where do I look to see what version of IE I am running? I'm on a HP computer right now. Control panel?

I assume your on XP so the link I gave you should help. as you can see in the screen shots of my desktop I was testing all three browsers. Mozilla did poorly, IE lagged some and I can't say enough of how well Chrome works for me. I only keep Mozilla for the add on feature where I use download helper to save YouTube music videos for later enjoyment and can keep and I don't use IE at all.

this is what I found and tend to agree.

Difference between IE 8 and IE 9
In addition to performance enhancements such as faster Installation, fast start and more efficient browsing, Internet Explorer 9 also offer following new features:
    - Streamlined design
    - Pinned Sites
    - Download Manager
    - Enhanced tabs
    - New Tab page
    - Search in the address bar
    - Notification Bar
    - Add-on Performance Advisor
    - Hardware acceleration
-Internet Explorer 9 uses Direct2D for hardware acceleration which is unavailable in Windows XP

it comes down to 9 being better than 8 simply because it's designed to operate on Vista or above OS. now that doesn't mean 8 wont run good on XP and certainly better than 7, 6 and previous versions but look at it like the older your system and OS the slower it will be. IE 9 on a up to date system with win 7 64 will fly compared to IE 8 on an older system running XP.

    A last note.

I believe a lot of the issues people are having are not so much browser related as they are hardware and OS. if your system is old and not tuned up, a state of the art forum like this, is going to give you issues. it's certainly not the web page because some one like myself who is not having issues contributes it to my pc. I'm running a self built machine, quad 4 processor with 8 gigs of ram and my OS as mentioned is win 7 64 bit home premium. I also have time warner roadrunner turbo as my IP. keeping your machine up to date and tuned up will make browsing so much better and even the older systems can run smooth if properly taken care of.
