Default Jim Kelly in Chan's Offense...Holy Crap!

Could you imagine the numbers Kelly in his prime would put up in Chan's offense? Not to mention in this new generation of football where DB's can't touch WR's. I'd go as far to say Kelly would annually throw for well over 4,000 and 35 tds...EASY. Guys like SJ, FJ, and CJ would be killers. If everything remained the same on the 2012 Bills and you simply replaced Fitz with Prime Kelly the Bills would be the SB favorite, in my opinion. This offense is tailor made for Kelly's skill set and his ability to read and react. I'd argue that Tom Brady would be the second best QB in the division.

    Anyway, one can fantasize.
What would you be doing if nothing were impossible...

You're 100% right about Brady being the second best in the division in your hypothetical example. It's hard to imagine Jimbo doing any better than he did under Levy; I mean, JESUS, the K-Gun was lethal. How much better could he have been in any other system?

I loved Jimbo. But he isn't as good as Brady was in the playoffs.

I'd still argue Brady was the better QB if they played at the same time.

Brady hasn't won a SB since his favorite coordinator SONnY CAMeron retired. Jimbo was never
one to complain like a little girl whenever a call didn't go his way and never cried for roughing the passer flags like princess Brady. I don't think Jim would do any better than he has before. He had a better team assembled when he was actually playing. Jim did have superior talent on offense, more than Brady ever had. Brady can win with whoever you put on the field. QB's aside, the Pats have the bling because of one simple reason. Coaching! As much as I hate Belicheck he is a masterful coordinator. And if you give him a video camera he's a GOD.

Jim Kelly, in my offense, drawn up with bottle caps on a side street, would be a hall of famer, just saying. I totally agree with what OP is saying though, Jimbo would be amazing.

Actually, the one I think would benefit from playing today would be Andre Reed, you breathe on receivers nowadays it is a penalty and he made his living going over the middle.

Jim did fine in his offense - Frank Reich would have been fantastic in Chan's offense.
    Looking forward to 2013:

Manuel - most upside in the draft
Woods - most pro ready WR
Alonso - tall ILB with coverage skills
Goodwin - fastest WR in draft
Duke Williams - prince of a pick
Meeks - no he is not
Hopkins - best K prospect in the draft
    Gragg - vertical threat TE

Go ahead and complain - I am happy with this draft
Adopt a Bill - first choice Alonso, second Goodwin

Does everyone agree the bills would be instant SB favorites if you switched Jim with Fitz everything else being the same?

Marino would have thrown 100 TDs in a season.
The same way Michael Jordan would break 100pnts several times in todays NBA.

Lets see: Reed/Lofton/Beebe or SJ13/Nelson and whoever
    Thomas/K. Davis or Jackson/Spiller
    Hull/Ballard/Wolford/Richter/ Ferotte or Glenn/Levitre/Wood/Hairston/Urbik
    Chandler/Caussin or Metzelaars/McKeller
    Mueller or McIntyre

I know which half I'm taking I like Jim very much. But, if he could'nt win a SB with his team no way he takes this lesser version. Even with the new rules.

Jim Kelly still wouldn't have as much talent as the team that went to 4 straight Superbowl's and he didn't scramble very well, so I'm not so sure. Kelly had Andre Reed to throw to, Thurman Thomas to hand the ball off to, a great O-line, then on Defense we had players like Bruce Smith, D. Tally and C. Bennet just to name a few

I Like where the Buffalo Bills are and the direction they seem to be headed, but the team is still unproven and not just at the QB position.

Thing is Jim made everyone better around him. Who knows on this team who we would elevate to elite status by his play and leadership.

Suddenly the defense is that much better when the offense consistently puts up 30 points a week.

JK really did make everyone around him perform at a high level.
