who is above him? Young? Marino? Elway? Aikman? Favre? I don't know why Marino would be higher.

I have no idea how old you are or if you were watching football back then, but i would easily rank Marino ahead of Kelly.

I always felt Marino was one of the top couple QB's back then. Jim Kelly had top notch intangibles though. Nobody was tougher at the position than Jimbo.

    Kelly at 6 is fine.

    10. Cunningham
    9. George (not a popular inclusion among the panelists)
    8. Bledsoe
    7. Moon
    6. Kelly
    5. Marino (panelists went berzerk that he was only number 5. Someone please tell me who he should have passed ahead of him)
    4. Young
    3. Aikman
    2. Elway
    1. Favre

These are some of my favorite qbs all-time. Kelly-Young-Elway-Favre and Montana which is not there.

if montana isn't on the list, doesn't that make it a pretty stupid list?

Marino is absolutely ahead of Steve Young and Troy Aikman. Have you ever seen Marino's numbers? For the time he played in, they're nuts.

Montana's production and championships came mostly in the 80s.

Montana's career was basically over by then other than the nice little Chiefs run. He was the best QB of the 80s but nowhere near that for the 90s.

Kelly at 6 is fine. If he won a SB I could see him flip flop with say Aikman.

Jeff George at 9 makes no sense. I'd put Chris Chandler ahead of him.

I think he's better than Aikman but not Young. It's not baseball. Winning is more important than stats in football and especially quarterback Kelly never got it totally done but at least he made it to the show. Marino went in 84 and never went again. That means a lot for the field general position

Kelly should be ahead of Marino because the phish could never get past the Bills. Kelly should be ahead of Young because Kelly won the head to head match up. (no punt game)

marino is over-rated because of his stats. that team did not hand off the ball, theey let marino throw it to the RB instead

And done by 94. He barely played in the decade and his success was far outstripped by others. Young made him irrelevant. He was on IR in 1991 and didn't play. I loved him but it's totally fine to say he wasn't a top ten QB of the 90s.

Agreed. And their terrible d meant he had to throw a million times a game too.

Elway was clearly the best of that decade.

    I know...I know...The stats...OHHHH!!! The STATS!
    F THE F'N STATS!

    COME ON GUYS!!!!!
    We are all Buffalo Fans.

We saw First Hand... Jimbo...hand Marino loss after loss after Loss. Regular and Post Season Games.

1989 Jimbo's QB Sneak to win! After they were trailing by what? 11? with Under 5 Minutes to go? and what did Marino Do? Throw a Pic!
    1990 Buffalo 44 Miami 34
1992 Buffalo went INTO Miami in the AFC Championship Game and TOOK IT ****IT!

    JIMBO owned Marino!

    PERIOD!
Agree. Never got the stats argument. W-L is the key. Otherwise Vinny and Dave Krieg would be in the HOF.

The only HOFer really due to stats more than a ton of success is Warren Moon. He pulled it off with no AFC title game appearances. The Oilers were always pretty good though.

I guess no one saw the show... Lol... But i love the fans...

I would make the list this way. Again it all depends on "whats the criteria for judging?" It appears to me they are putting 1st pure passers, 2nd championships, 3rd stats, and 4th certain accomplishments or winning records.

Id put this: (and yes Joe is cleary more 80z than 90z)

    1st John Elway.
    Steve Young or Brett
    Brett Farve or Steve
    Troy Aikman
    Jim Kelly
    Dan Marino
    Warren Moon
    Drew Bledsoe
    Randall Cunningham
Neil O'Donnell or Phil Simms or Stan Humphries (although they are very boderline) im trying to remember anyone else who was a "name" i guess Boomer Esiason, Vinny Testaverde and Bernie Kosar.
