Just the name.... Brings back memories... Pass...
The guy is worthless.. Donald Jones shows more promise
Watch out AFC.. The Beast of the East is merely napping
saved for future reference...in regards to 2013 QB's.

All that needs to be said about the QBs is that they're all flawed and mediocre and shouldn't be taken anywhere in the first round. None of them.
You put too little thought into personnel decisions. If the Bills should sign this guy, there are 15 other teams that should, as well, including the Seahawks. And one of those teams would have signed him already. Someone would have gobbled him up.
Williams is more damaged goods than Vince Young, and teams weren't beating down Vince's door. Vince ended up in Buffalo because the Bills needed SOMEONE to come in and compete for the backup job. The Bills aren't that desperate for a receiver.
The Ball Burglar is gone but not forgotten.
While I agree, I don't think he is an upgrade to the vets they brought in to compete here already. He is no better than Clowney or Hagan. Why waste a roster spot on him? I see the point on competition, but splicing in every FA WR on the market doesn't necessarily add competition. He would be coming into an unfamiliar team with a spread style offense. The thrived in a West Coast offense 2 years ago and did poorly in the improvisational spread they had last year. So he did poorly in the offense that is similar to what we have now... Why do we want him again?
People get all excited every time a player is cut, but don't bother to see if his addition will actually help this team. Bringing in an older guy who has had limited to no success his entire career makes no sense. We have younger players who are just as good of athletes and most of whom already know the system. This guy played in a similar system last year and couldn't make anything happen. Sounds like he is a perfect candidate to go to Tennessee to play with a guy he has had success in the past with.
Just strikes me as a waste of a roster spot. I would take TO as a FA add before I would take this guy and I want nothing to do with TO. At least TO though would bring some proven skill set to the table.

Lets sign every player that is cut or on the trade block
To be let go at this point of the season is kind of a red flag. Could be injuries are still an issue or perhaps he got all lazy again after the contract. Who knows this guy isn't worth the time though.
As someone who has seen Mike Williams play quite a bit here in Seattle I will tell you that this guy has lost it.
He doesn't have the work ethic to be good. He showed up two years ago wanting to prove something with the Seahawks and he did for the first few weeks of the season. Then he got his money and disappeared.
Signing him would be no better than signing Josh Reed.
I like football.

NFL Mock Draft:
1. Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama
2. Kelechi Osemele, OL Iowa State
3. Nick Toon, WR Wisconsin
4. DeQuan Menzie CB Alabama
You make some great points - I was a huge Mike Williams fan coming out of college - I had watched him dominate very good DBs week after week and thought he would do the same in the pros. He had 30 TDs in two years in college against very good DBs - I thought he was a can't miss guy and told people as much
Problem is the gray muscle between the ears turned out to be defective - no work ethic, almost, no actually ate his way out of football. His college coach rehabilitates him and he has one good year. He gets injured and like you said, he most likely did not meet weight and fitness standards for the team and if he did not do that for a guy that picked him up after being out of football for years, why do you think he would do it for the Bills?
He certainly has more talent that most of our WRs but if all it took was talent to play this game, 90% of WRs would never bust - but they do in droves because you have to be smart and disciplined to be a good-great WR. The greatest WR of all time was not the most talented but he was the hardest worker and one of the brightest to ever play the position. If Williams worked half as hard as Jerry Rice, he would have been a pro-bowler multiple times. But he did not and evidently will not.
He would have to come in and blow us away with his fitness and his interview to even remotely consider him to take reps from one of the guys we have here already.
Looking forward to 2013:
Manuel - most upside in the draft
Woods - most pro ready WR
Alonso - tall ILB with coverage skills
Goodwin - fastest WR in draft
Duke Williams - prince of a pick
Meeks - no he is not
Hopkins - best K prospect in the draft
Gragg - vertical threat TE
Go ahead and complain - I am happy with this draft
Adopt a Bill - first choice Alonso, second Goodwin
If you have a name or have done something in the League, BBMB is too good for you.
If you are an absolute nobody, who cant get on the field, because you are terrible, Easley, Troy Smith or Charlie Whitehurst, BBMB loves you. The Buffalo area sports fan, hates anyone the general public has heard of. Poz, Whitner, Lynch, Fletcher Mcgahee, bums. Easley, Aiken, Jasper heros.
His size alone should garner him an opportunity. He would be a great Red Zone threat if nothing else. He'll sign with a team relatively quickly. If the team was interested in Gordon who also had character flaws, atleast the team has seen what Williams can do in the NFL in a mediocre offense in Seattle and Detroit. He did very well in 2010.
Our WRs are not good enough. If we dont add a guy, (like a M. Williams) we wont score enough to beat the physical defenses. When that happens, Il bring this post back up, like I did with my old Fitz threads. Then everyone will backtrack and blame the QB or injuries. We need more playmakers at WR
I would rather have some of our guys going into there 3rd year to play before we grab some slop bucket.
