I live in Nova Scotia and for some reason we got the American network feeds from Rochester back in the late 80s early 90s. The Bills were always on and they were awesome and I was an impressionable 10 year old, so the Bills became my team. I remember there was always the coolest shot of Jim Kelly walking through the tunnel onto the field, the camera guy was behind him following him and he just had that cocksure swagger like a prizefighter on the way to the ring. I'm surrounded by Pats fans so it's been a long ten plus years of frustration but when the Bills start winning again man it's gonna be sweet. I brainwashed my younger brother and we made a pact to go to Buffalo for a game next year now that he's out of school. Can't wait.

Ah well darn it wasn't me, but unfortunately I go to school in Indiana so I'm even more removed from Bills fans as I swear everyone is Colts out there

Honestly, I've been a Bills fan since I can remember. I think it was the Super Bowl against the Redskins and I just decided I wanted the Bills to win. I was pretty young, like 5, and it just stuck.
Favorite (Bills) Player: Jackson and nobody else at the moment.

When I was little I use to watch the St Louis Cardinals and when they moved to Arizona I quit following them. About that same time the Bills drafted Ronnie Harmon from the university of Iowa. I'm a lifelong Hawkeye fan and started to follow the Bills and have been hooked ever since. Being from Illinois I always try to see them when they play in Stl, Indy, Chicago and KC as well as road trips to Buffalo yearly. I love what the Bills and Buffalo stand for. I wear my Bills colors proudly and cannot wait for the day when the Bills bust down that wall and hoist a Superbowl trophy!

    Go Bills!!!!!!

I am a bit of an outsider. Everyone, and I mean everyone was on the dallas/Wash/ NYG bandwagon when I was a youngster. I went with the Bills. Stayed and loved since.

Although it is extremely tough around these parts not being a patriots fan, 10 or so years later its the best sports decision I/we have ever made.

I grew up in Toronto, and I love football. I was exposed to the NFL at a very young age because of the connection to Buffalo news and sports. We picked it up on our old antenna (I'm 56)...My parents honeymooned in Buffalo because it was all they could afford in 1956. Nine months later I was born....so, there is some Buffalo in me no doubt. I have always loved this team, even over the last 12 years. I watched alot of the CFL as well, and I loved Doug Flutie, I still do. That's why I'm a Bills fan, and will always be a Bills fan.

Was a general NFL fan in Southern Ontario until I went to the Ralph in 1997. After that I was hooked and never looked back. To bad I was not around for the Super Bowl years, but I'll be around for the Super Bowl Victory!

dude that was awesome. bills fan in alabama or from alabama can happen. besides when they drafted marcel i was screaming. he went from my favorite college team to my pro team. i love the bills like i do the tide. i want them to have all the success that the tide has had. the fans deserve it. the city deserves it. it helps all the way around to be a champ. dont believe me? ask the fans in tuscalooosa. its mind-blowing. its a top of the world feeling and its due for this team and their fans. way overdue.

Dad was born in Buffalo but was military, so was born into fandom and I grew up with the mentality that Buffalo is my 2nd home.

Only good thing about losing is that there aren't many bandwagon fans.

That's how its suppose to be, whichever team was closest to where you live, that was your team. See, I never had anyone tell me that growing up, so at age 9 (1989) I pick the Bills from a video game lol (Joe Montana football or Tecmo Bowl) it was one or the other. I knew nothing about them at the time. Then I started educating myself on the city, then this team. Yea...but then nobody considered me a "real fan". Everyone was saying "your with them cause their in the Superbowl". But, the day it became official for myself & everyone when my teacher told me 96', "if I see you years later & the Bills stink! & your still rockin that Bruce Smith jersey, then your a true fan". And that year wee stunk bad. 3-13 with Todd Collins at QB!!! & I've been riding ever since. Even when I come to the games (which I'll be at the thursday nighter against Miami) people say "you got the Eagles, why pick the Bills". I love Philly, but Buffalo's a 2nd home. The Bills are my 1st team in sports period! Then there's everybody else (Phillies, Sixers, Flyers sorry Sabers lol). The Bills are my love! I still smile when I see the logo lol! Here's to the die hard fan!!! Go Bills 2012

Being aussie the only games I saw when growing up were the superbowls of the 80's & 90's and my aussie football team (collingwood) has a similar record in our equivalent of the superbowl so it was easy to relate to how bills fans were feeling at that time :-(. I've been extremely passionate and disappointed since :-s ...... on a side note my car has a bills decal that you'd be surprised how often I get looks and abused on the other side of the world! It's good to see such a positive feeling around the team this year!

Always kind of liked the Bills because I grew up in upstate NY. Then I went to college and roomed with a number of Jet fans that, despite being generally ok guys, caused me to hate everything associated with the Jets because of their bi-polar like bragging one minute and whining the next. Now,since Jet fans typically make fun of anyone or anything nort of the Bronx -I found myself loving every minute of a Bills victory over the Jets as well as loving every minute of the Jets fans miserey (even though I otherwise liked and got along with these guys the rest of the time). Anyway, Bills fan ever since.

I'm from western NY, but I have a sort-of related story.

I live in northern Illinois now (Bear's country). I was at someone's house last year, and in his man-cave he has a Seahawks logo. I asked if he was from Seattle, and he said, "No, I'm from here." So I asked why he's a Seahawks fan.

He said that his college roommate was a Miami fan who talked non-stop about the Dolphins. One day they were watching the 'Phins play the Seahawks, and the Hawks demolished them. He was so happy to see his roommate silenced that he became an instant Seahawks fan. I told him that as a lifelong Bills fan, an enemy of the 'Phins is a friend of mine!

Both of my parents are from Buffalo, but I wasn't forced to be a Bills fan by any means. I was raised in the Albany area, but would travel to Buffalo for a big family Christmas celebration every year. My fondest times growing up were those few weeks every year I would spend in Buffalo with a great family.

The first game I ever saw was when I was 3 years old watching Super Bowl XXV with my family. Fortunately for me, I fell asleep before Wide Right, and was spared the nightmare. I didn't really watch football for the next several years, although I was familiar with the names like Thurman, Kelly, Reed and Bruce. In fact, my dad didn't even watch the games anymore after Kelly retired, doing yardwork instead on Sundays. I really got back into the Bills after reading an article about "Flutie Magic" in the paper. It was the first game Flutie stepped in, and even though they lost the game, I was mystified by this man who could overcome his own physical limitations with sheer will. I started finding out when the games were on and was hooked to the Bills fast. Finally, last season, I got my dad to start watching every game with me.

My dad endured the worst of the 70's and 80's. He listened to the games on the radio if he couldn't see them on TV. I think the Super Bowls in the 90's broke his heart in a way where it was too painful to watch the Bills when Jimbo was no longer in command. He always read about them, but just couldn't watch them. Now 15 years later he looks forward to watching them with me and my brothers every Sunday.

I was a young kid growing up in the San Francisco bay area. the bills were playing the 49ers in the no punt game. It was the first football game i watched. I wanted to be rebellious since my parents were huge 49ers fans so i started rooting for the bills starting that game having no clue about football or who the bills were. I think i was about 7 years old. Been a fan ever since, made the trip to Buffalo a few times and catch other road games when i can! I have Sunday ticket for the other games. I now have a wife who is a die hard Bills fan and a 2 year old who is becoming a Bills fan!

It started for me with Tecmo Bowl on the Sega Genesis. I picked the Bills because I hated the Jets, loved the Bills colors (I was like 5) and my dad had bought me a pillow case with the Bills logo on it. I stuck with them for all that time. I'm 20 now and I've been closely following them for over half a decade
