Default Interesting posting on Vince Young

    http://www.musiccitymiracles.com/201...-career-record

It basically points out to people that say all Vy does is win.... his record against playoff caliber teams is 5-10. They also show Vys stats against teams and point out that a couple of those 5 wins were against a gimme game from the colts and an arizona team that didnt play Kurt Warner. NFL.com shows his record against teams .500 or better is 13-14 (which was when he got canned from the Titans, it is now 14-18). So to me that winning record, that people like to point out so much, doesnt mean much.

I remember when we lost a gimme game to Pittsburgh awhile back. They sat their starters & everything. It counted though VYs dont.
Buffalo, where the boot lickers are well taken care of.
Franchise needs a change of attitude. Welcome EJ now lead the charge. Fitz is gone and the worst starting DE I've seen stay on the field after continually doing nothing is gone Now let's move forward B-Lo.

Did I mention Fitz? Im talking about Vy and Vy alone. This isnt suppose to be a thread about Fitz. Of course you wouldnt see that from your Fitz hatred and your delusioned fantasy about Vy being the savior that he isnt (which is actually what I was trying to point out)

It doesn't matter if you mentioned Fitz or not. These idiots come out in every thread mentioning a QB just to bash him.

Does that mean that Vince Young is about as good as Matt Hasselback or Kerry Collins who replaced him, since they had similar records?
2011 - Smart posters warned everyone else, Fitzpatrick was a waste of a year. Now we all know.
2012 - Smart posters warned everyone else another season of Gailey was a waste of a year. Now we all know
2013 - Smart posters are warning everyone else another year of brandon/nix is a waste of a year. Next year we will all know.

The only thing I need to know about Vince Young is that his attempts to interceptions ratio last year was double of Fitz's. That's very sad. Almost as sad as not being resigned by the Eagles and being replaced by a guy whose name rhymes with Brent Deadwards.

"What matters is two years and three years down the road, if we have this thing turned around in the right direction and we're winning," Nix said. "I know before I'm asked this, you're going to think I'm crazy, but we're not that far away."

“Russ and I scanned a list of possible candidates,” Wilson said. “We didn’t know them. I didn’t know them. I don’t think Russ did. We narrowed it down to two candidates for the job of general manager of football, two in-house candidates.”

    Kerry Collins:

    2× Pro Bowl (1996, 2008)
    NFC Champion (2000)
    Consensus All-American (1994)
    Maxwell Award (1994)
    Davey O'Brien Award (1994)
    Sammy Baugh Award (1994)
College Quarterback of the Year (1994)
NY Giants single season record for passing yards (4,073) set in 2002, since broken

Career NFL statistics as of Week 5, 2011

    TD-INT 208-196
    Passing yards 40,922
    QB Rating 73.8

Collins started the 1999 season as the Giants' second-string quarterback, but soon claimed the starting job. In the 2000 season Collins led the Giants to Super Bowl XXXV, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens. During the 2001 season, Collins set a single-season NFL record with 23 fumbles[3] (Collins' record was tied in 2002 by then-Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper). In 2002, Collins set the Giants single season franchise passing record with 4, 073 yards (The record was broken by Eli Manning in 2011)

Collins began the 2004 season as the team's backup to Rich Gannon, but took over the starting role when Gannon suffered a neck injury in the third week of the regular season. Collins was the team's starting quarterback for the 2005 season, subsequent to Gannon's retirement.[4]

The 2005 Raiders season started off well for Collins, but he was benched after a 34-10 Week 12 loss to the San Diego Chargers. After Tuiasosopo's 26-10 loss at the Jets in Week 13, Collins regained his starting job in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns (a 9–7 loss at home). After two seasons and a 7–21 record with the Raiders, Collins was cut on March 10, 2006 in what was at least partially a move designed to free space with the salary cap.

On August 28, 2006, Collins agreed to a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans. After three games, all losses for the Titans, Collins had completed fewer than half his passes, and had thrown one touchdown and six interceptions. Vince Young, who played extensively as a substitute in the second game, started the fourth through sixth games while Collins saw no playing time in any of them. On March 5, 2007 he re-signed with the Titans.

After Young was injured against Jacksonville on September 7, 2008, Collins finished the game and was named the Titans starting quarterback for the rest of 2008 later that week. On September 21, 2008, Collins became the 15th player in NFL history to pass for more than 35,000 yards. Coming into the game against the Houston Texans, Collins needed only 90 yards to eclipse the mark. On his ninth completion of 13 attempts, Collins completed a 17-yard pass to Justin McCareins to give him 107 yards on the day and 35,017 yards for his career.

The Titans finished the 2008 regular season with a record of 13–3, top seed in the playoffs, and a first round bye. In the divisional round they lost to the Baltimore Ravens 13-10. A last minute field goal by Matt Stover won the game for the Ravens. Collins indicated after the season that he would like to play in 2009, but only as a starter.[5] Collins replaced Jets quarterback Brett Favre in the 2009 Pro Bowl, after first alternate Philip Rivers pulled out. He re-signed with the Titans on February 27, 2009. His new contract was worth $15 million, with $8.5 million guaranteed over two years.[6]

Collins (left) with the Tennessee Titans, and Matt Schaub.
Collins returned as the team's starting quarterback for the beginning of the 2009 season. In week six the TItans were defeated by the New England Patriots 59-0. After that loss and a 0-6 record on the season, coach Jeff Fisher replaced Collins as starting quarterback with Vince Young, three days before the November 1, 2009 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fisher stated that he was against this decision, saying that the problems with the team were unrelated to quarterback play, but he made the substitution after being urged by Titans owner Bud Adams to do so.[7] The Titans won five straight games with Young as quarterback, and later finished the season 8-8

I would say no on Hasselbeck and maybe on Collins. Hasselbeck has had a good career and Collins has been up and down although I would say Collins has had a better overall career then Vy as well. Although both QBs have played in a superbowl and young hasnt. Its actually interesting though that Collins and Young are both head cases and both have had serious issues.

You can judge for yourself but those are my opinions

    Says the Dolphin fan........
"I personally agree with Mayock. I've said this all year. I can guarantee that there will be a run on qb's in the first. This class is better than most think. They just have the bad "luck" of following last year's crop". I think the only qb's that will be considered at 8 are Smith, Barkley, Wilson, and (maybe) Glennon. quoted by whorlnuts....1/22/13

If only I cared about a Backup QB that has not made the team yet. Only thing I care about right now is our starters.

a .500 record vs playoff teams ain't bad.

You have failed to prove what you tried to prove, and brought even more criticism on the bearded one.

are we talking about a 21yo young who was faster than greased lightning
and was able to make something out of nothing with shear athletic ability
or the current day young who has gotten older and lost that extra step?

the 21yo young would be the bills day#1 starter.
current young is playing on a 1yr/vet min contract cuz NOBODY else wanted him...

what a drag it is getting old!

I don't think he's even qualified for PS yet.

the vy band-wagoners not only believe but want vy to become the starter clearly says they are infatuated with a fantasy that vy is going to be the savior of the team and also says they not only don't have faith in Fitz, but clearly don't support him.

be careful though, if you don't believe in their train of thought or support their vy dreams and fantasy, you are high on bath salts

Fitz needs to step up his game or he'll be replaced by a has been head case, that's a real improvement.
