Props to David Nelson 4 Paying 4 Wounded Veteran Bills Fan To Attend Camp

Thanks to TW99 for passing along a beautiful story which illustrates the character of this team. Apparently, David Nelson PAID FOR a rabid Bills fan who is also a wounded veteran to attend camp on Thursday from out of town.

All the team members greeted this young man (whose name was not known by TW99) and thanked him for his service to our country. Speaks to the character of this team, and particularly David Nelson.

Not enough of this kind of stuff get circulated in the media, IMO. This was an act of kindness that IMO deserves recognition of its own by creating a separate thread here. BIG props to David and his teammates for making this young man's dream come true!

Really hard team not to completely get behind, and now we have the talent so it makes it even easier. A good mix of comraderie and a group that seems to be outstanding citizens that honestly seem to understand what they mean to the community, and the city of Buffalo.

These guys all seem to be 100% Buffalo Bills, they have embraced what it means to have the responsibility and privilege that comes with being a pro athlete.

Bills fans deserve a winning team, but these guys seem to deserve a winning season too. I am hoping, obviously, that this year it just works for the fans and these players.

Without a doubt, this team is one of the highest character teams we've seen in a very long time. Quite a statement given the bad behavior by players in the NFL, and pro sports in general.

An aspect of character which isn't widely considered, which I believe qualifies here, centers on the giving of one's self in some way, like an act of kindness, charity, or even just a helping hand and not seeking praise or recognition. The lack of that type of underlying motivation is what giving from the heart is all about.

No drum beating or announcement of intent by Nelson or whoever else was involved.

This story would have probably flown under the radar with few of us able to appreciate it had it not been posted here.
