Angry Fitzpatrick haters, please read this:

    Today:

Aaron Rogers -- 2/8 -- 16 yards and an INT
    Drew Brees --1/4 -- 4 yards
    Tom Brady -- 4/7 -- 30 yards
Peyton Manning -- 4/8 -- 44 yards and an INT

    Ryan Fitzpatrick -- 6/14 -- 66 yards

    IT'S PRE-SEASON WEEK 1. CALM DOWN.
If you're already critical of Fitzpatrick all you're proving is that you don't know anything about how pre-season works and you're not going to keep an open mind this season. You're embarrassing yourself. Just watch the game and stop it.

*EDIT* Because most of you somehow don't understand what my point is I'll be perfectly clear.
Even the best QBs in football had a bad pre-season week 1.
I'm not saying Fitzpatrick is as good as these guys.
If you can't understand this, please do us all a favor and read a book or go back to school.

    You are embarrassing yourself.

Funny how every single year the people who make excuse after excuse for this team have nothing to say at the end of the year.

    Your list
    1) Super Bowl
    2) Super Bowl
    3) Super Bowl
    4) Super Bowl

Fitzpatrick has been given the job for the 2nd year in a row with no competition. He is not above criticism.

Yeah...but see thing thing is....OP used the QBs BECAUSE they're good. Of course Fitz isn't above criticism, but the point of this thread is to say, that perhaps we should wait until our guys play a full game before we burn our season tickets. Take a chill pill.

I think you're missing the point. I will type this in caps.

IT IS WEEK 1 AND GOOD PLAYERS AREN'T PLAYING GOOD.
THAT IS A COMPLETELY NATURAL THING TO HAPPEN IN PRE-SEASON WEEK 1.

I understand what you're trying to do, but you are way off base here. Proven Superbowl-winning QBs have the luxury of lackluster preseason performance. Fitz does not. It's not about the numbers, it's about the way he played. He showed the EXACT same inconsistency and inaccuracy that has plagued him throughout his career and was supposed to be fixed by his work with David Lee. It may be the preseason, but Fitz needs to show steady improvement to justify the coaches' faith in him and he isn't doing that. I'm not a Fitz hater by any stretch of the imagination, but you can't continue to make excuses for the guy when he isn't holding up his end of the bargain. He's got some time to get it right, but not a lot. Any reasonable fan should be concerned with what he showed tonight considering that the regular season starts in 4 weeks. The "sky is falling" crowd needs to calm down, but there's plenty of reason to think that this offense is not where it needs to be right now.

Nobody is burning their tickets or taking off their Bills gear.

Fitzpatrick looked like garbage tonight as well as the rest of our QBs. Not a big surprise, they weren't good last season either.

The truth is still the same - we are going to need a lot better than Ryan Fitzpatrick to win in this league.

Your embarrassing yourself!! Basically your saying that if you a super bowl winning QB then having a bad preseason game is ok because it's just preseason. However Fitz hasn't done anything so he clearly has to be good all of the time even in the preseason.

You're not allowed to be optimistic. I get that people don't trust this team/organization, but man this is a bit crazy.

I don't have to act to make Ryan Fitzpatrick look bad - he looks terrible on his own.

No I am saying proven QBs that have won Super Bowls - I know they will show up with the lights on.

Fitzpatrick - He is a marginal starting QB in this league. When comes out and looks inaccurate as always its the same Ryan Fitzpatrick as usual. And thats not good enough to win anything in this league.

Yes, that's exactly right. There's no reason to worry about those guys having a bad preseason game because they've proven that they play at a consistently high level when it counts. Fitz hasn't proven anything, so he needs to be sharp all the time to give the coaches and his teammates the confidence that he will be ready when it counts. Do you find that unreasonable?

There is a massive talent and production gap in the 4 QBs you've mentioned and Ryan Fitzpatrick. I'm sure you know this. Why not dig up some old preseason stats from Montana and Elway while you're at it?
