third down conversion rate is inordinately affected by a number of factors outside the control of subject Fitzpatrick.. dropped passes and poor play calling come foremost to mind, as well as third and long situations imposed on the quarterback by poor first down running numbers (clearly illustrated in the Texans game), and the ineffectiveness of the wildcat formation.
