    D2K loves PFF....

The offensive line is giving up 13.4 pressures per game, which is the second-highest average in the NFL, according to PFF. The high-priced Demetress Bell is ranked 69th out of 70 qualifying tackles. Dallas Reynolds is ranked 35th out of 36 centers.

The first article you linked had a date of Sept. 9th 2012, completely irrelevant to today, I am sure you can agree. As for the other 2, I have already answered that.

The point about Glenn was not whether or not he would go #10, it was if he can play LT. I never firmly said he'd go 10 so that's an argument with others you had. I just said he could play LT. BTW, Nix did say that they considered him at 10. So you were right but not right against me because I didn't argue against that. I was right that he could play LT, you were wrong.

You try your hardest to be a spinster by using phrases like "I never FIRMLY said he'd go 10..." which was my entire point altogether and you know it. I said exactly this exact thing: You NEVER draft ANYTHING but a QB or players for the defensive side of the ball in the 1st round" I still stick to that theory. I also said, Glenn would not go in the 1st round. I was right about that as well. It doesnt matter though, because I like Glenn and he has played LT brilliantly this year. See that is the difference between you and i dude, I will admit that, you will not admit that I was right....EVER.

I never claimed anyone has ever been 100% right on the mock top 10. You were so incredibly concrete with it that again, you narrowed yourself down. Those were your words and the words you used. "I believe he will..." and "No doubt he will..." has different meanings.

I guess with Fitz's inability to throw the ball downfileld has nothing to do with us only throwing the short 3 step drop...keep believing that.

So you are saying that this is a 3 step drop offense? Thats exactly what I was saying when you and many others reasoning for drafting a LT in the first round was to enable this offense to run 7 step drops (nobody does this anymore). This is a 3 step and fire offense, and now you will finally admit that? Once again, D2K was right.

You're missing the point again about Burfict. I never said what he was going to be but what he was at the time of the draft. You said top 10, he wasn't even drafted. He's starting, playing better than what I thought. I'll admit that but that wasn't the point of the argument.

You know that after the combine, that he wasnt going in the 1st round, I knew that, and I readily admitted it. Still, everyone and I mean EVERYONE said that Burfict was terrible and I fought that battle all off season and kept saying that you cant judge a player before he has played. I was chastized for that comment. Guess who is smiling as he writes this Guess which team has the worst LB'ers in this league? Thats right us.

See this proved my point. If you were to call me out like you have in the past, I never called you a "tool" and "dunce" or any other name like that. You like to name call, that's how you handle yourself. It's emotionally immature and you're too sensitive. You're obviously not able to stay calm.
I like how I have been painted on this board from some of you as a villain, so much so that I cant say ANYTHING without flack. Its fine, I keep proving myself right, and you keep spinning and twisting and my words to fit this stigma that I somehow have created and has been fed by you and that spielman kid who adds nothing to conversations.

You seem much more bearable on billievers. I say that because I see you there, but I never have a back and forth with you there like I have with you here. In fact, Ihave never had a back and forth with ANYONE there like I have had with you.

    Never was. Never will be.

He's not fast enough and he doesn't have loose enough hips to make up for his severe lack of speed.

Try him at SS next year. If he doesn't impress there keep him as an affordable backup then wait for his rookie deal to expire...
This really should have ended the thread, but you guys continue to play the OP's game.

D.Bell was benched in TC. How is that not a sign? Then he was benched again when their line was already terrible. Obviously they see a problem with him and why he's sit. He's not good.

    - We have a limited playbook with Fitz, Gailey has deeper, long developing plays that he can't use. We drafted Glenn so we could have better protection on the left side...we got that. The problem is the QB. In his last 25 or so attempts. he's completed one ball in the air over 30 yards. If we had a QB with any accuracy downfield, we'd throw downfield alot more. To say that Gailey doesn't want to go downfield is ludicrous. The offense is restricted. You're confusing this with wanting to 3 step fire with being handicapped with our QB.

    - Just like you said about Glenn earlier...people are praising him way too much this early just like you are with Burfict. Again, I admit, he's been playing better than I thought. People with off field problems all the time but he was undrafted for more than just his attitude. We'll see how he continues to play...if he can become a legit starter then I'll eat crow.

    - I'm not spinning anything...I've rehashed your exact words. You keep saying you've proved yourself right, you have in some aspects but not everything that you claim to be. You're wrong alot and it's been proven. Your problem is you get all high and mighty, upset, and act like a spoiled teenager when someone says you're wrong.

    - Billevers is a good site and I probably should spend more time there...I stay on BBMB 95% for the But section. You bring your talons on BBMB but don't at Believers because they are more docile in their posting. I respect that site so that's why I don't get in these hissy fights over there.

Let me say this and take it for what its worth, but Howard Mudd the oline coach in Philly, who made his name in Indy riding peyton Mannings coattails is a horrible oline coach. Schematically wrong scheme for the type of players that the Eagles have assembled on the Oline and teh worst mistake in the Reid era otside of NEVER giving their best offensive weapon Shady McCoy the ball is the fact that he hired castillo as the D-coordinator. Castillo was an above-average Oline coach and the years that he was head of that unit, the Eagles finished in the top 10 in pass protection and in the running game. Bells problem in Buffalo wasnt that he wasnt good, it was that he couldnt stay healthy, which was the entire premise of my argument for Bell being re-signed. I completely disagree that he is bad.

You have NEVER known me to say anything positive about Fitz, so lets not go there with that. A Fitz homer, I am certainly not. As far as Gailey having a deeper playbook, with long developing pass plays, you have to admit that that is hyperbole at its finest. You dont know that, I dont that. For anyone to say that they know what plays are in Gaileys playbook is wrong on so many levels. Could there be plays that allow for deeper developing routes? Sure, but to blatantly claim it as truth is the definition of hyperbole. The 3 step fire offense is exactly what Gailey runs. Its been proven since his time in Pittsburgh. You cant run a 7 step drop when you are taking the snap from the Shotgun. Could you imagine how ridiculous that would look? Think about it. This is his offense. Gailey has his WR's run the entire route tree, that I dont disagree with, I also dont disagree with the fact that Fitz is a hindurance to the equation, but to say that we dont throw the 9 is blatantly false. Fitz doesnt throw the 9 because he knows his limitations and has become the exact opposite of what he was touted to us fans a "gunslinger" he is not.

    - Just like you said about Glenn earlier...people are praising him way too much this early just like you are with Burfict. Again, I admit, he's been playing better than I thought. Fair enough

Again, I am not quite understanding what I have been wrong about? You act as if I am some chump who doesnt the sport, but I think if you really thought about it, and we were face to face and no MB politics bull-****, you and I could have a serious, intelligent football conversation. But if you want to continue the Superman vs. Lex Luthor schtick, then I am all for that as well.

    - Billevers is a good site and I probably should spend more time there...I stay on BBMB 95% for the But section. You bring your talons on BBMB but don't at Believers because they are more docile in their posting. I respect that site so that's why I don't get in these hissy fights over there.
So you and I are one in the same then. We have less respect for this site, and the way that we post is different then from a site that actually has intelligent discussions without all the bull **** that I am equally guilty of. When you go to Billievers you can enjoy your time there because it never turns into a back and forth like we are having, and the conversation is tolerable and informed. I guess I can only read so many posts on this board that rip players and teams unjustly, without being thought about rationally. So I become the villain that I am portrayed as. I am not saying that this MB doesnt have intelligent posters, just that I could probably count them on both hands, the rest of the posts are asinine and redundant and most times just blatantly uninformed.

You're not so much a villain as a court jester. An angry, crazy court jester.

There is a vast vast need for scapegoats on these boards. It is an unending vacuum that needs desperately to be filled. Thus, tremendous hate builds up for individuals when the system and the simple way things work in the real world are the major causes of most of our problems.

It's a bit sad and highly unproductive to scapegoat people, whether it's Chan, Kelsay, Fitz, Aaron Williams, whoever. The major cause of our problems right now is that we're at the point in the life cycle of a team where the team is just slowly starting to improve, and that's not enough for people, and it's not fast enough for people. People want everything now now now, though the reality is that things take time.

Now, many of those people will end up off the team as time passes. But we don't even know how good this team is, much less have we identified anybody who if cut would improve this team anything but infinitesimally.

But it makes people feel much better if they can howl and scream and target people. It's very human, but one of the sad and unproductive aspects of our humanity which we should always be struggling to eliminate from our makeup so we can improve ourselves.

It will take as long as the Bills take to get good, as mankind will take to see this idea as a whole.
Do you feel like we do?

When Wilson finally loses his starting role the job goes to Searcy. Williams has shown nothing that makes me think SS. So if we moved him he would be in a battle for 3rd string SS, hardly worth mentioning.

the texans moved glover quin (another struggling cb) to safety and he has become a solid safety, might as well do the same here unless he can get his act together.
Andre Johnson only had 3 catches on Williams: One was a 12 yd out route that Williams had decent coverage on, the second was a 4yd hitch route again decent coverage and tackle for a 5 yd gain, the last catch was an all pro double move that would have also beat every CB on our roster and other rosters.

If you really watch Williams he has good coverage most of the time, QB's look his way then go to their 2nd and 3rd options or check down to a TE or RB. Williams issue is he has gotten beat 5 times and if you look at those plays over four of them were pretty good coverage just came up short.

1st TD - Bills are betting the crap out of the Chiefs 34-3 late in the game and Bowe beats him deep for a TD where Williams had pretty decent coverage just a better throw against a big WR.

2nd TD - Later in the Bills v Chiefs game with a few minutes left he got beat on a high throw to Bowe again when Williams was defending a fade route, Bowe puts the breaks on and the QB threw a back shoulder high ball that Bowe went up and got. Again both of those TD's in garbage time.

3rd TD - Bills vs Patriots late in the 4th quarter, has good coverage on Lloyd on a fade route and Brady throws an all pro pass that Lloyd makes a diving catch on, Williams has good coverage again but once again better throw and catch by the opponent.

4th TD - Bills vs 49ers, Williams covering Kyle Williams on a deep ball and has good coverage but Alex Smith see the good on top coverage and throws back shoulder and Kyle Williams adjusts and make the catch, Williams over runs the pass and is out of position to make a tackle on K. Williams for the TD with no help from the Safety.....just saying.

5th TD - Bills vs 49ers late in the game and Mario Manningham runs one of the best slant/out double moves I have ever seen in the red zone which also would have froze every young CB in the league for a TD in a blow out game.

My point is that when your break down these plays he is basically showing his youth and inexperience, couple that with the fact that he is not getting his hands on many balls e.g. PBU's and INT's and that is where the hate comes from. He is a physical player and a very solid tackler actually better than Gilmore if you watch closely because Gilmore never tries to wrap up on his tackle attempts but none of the less, Williams just needs to start making plays on balls thrown his way.

I think the Bills will give another season to figure out the CB position because he is a big corner and then in year 4 if he does not figure it out then they move him to safety/nickel where he can impact the game coming off the edge and in the run game. The kid is physical, a solid tackler and has a knack for causing fumbles by ripping the ball out during his time at Texas and last year against Miami e.g. Reggie Bush fumble.

Bottom line, there are lots of players on the Bills defense not playing up to their potential but as Gailey said Williams is not the biggest problem on the defense. He has the tools and athletic ability to play the position he just needs to start making plays on the ball and regain his confidence.
