Fitzs first pro game was better than Kaepernick has ever played in the NFL. It's the NFL, give it time and if he is a quality starting QB in another 4 years you are right. But the league is littered with guys who had successful debuts and runs of good QB play for a few games. Where is Vince Young now, how about Travaris Jackson? Oh, they can't even beat out Fitz and both have been passed on by multiple other teams.
Give it time to see if he is really that good. JP Losman had a great arm too.

Fitz' first significant action was against a 2-14 team heading down hill, Kaepernick's was against a division rival that is still undefeated in their division. The fact that you would try to compare those two games is laughable, and you don't have it anywhere near correct.

Fitz came in against a team that was 1-9 and barely beat them going 19-30 with 3Tds and an Int - Rating 117 (WIN)
Colin against a team that was 3-5 (2-0 in div) and tied them going for 17 points in the half - 11-17 and a rushing TD - Rating 84.7 (TIE)

Now let us look at their 1st 2 starts:
Fitz - vs Wash (5-6) - 21-36 with 0Tds and an Int and 1 rushing TD - rating 58.0 LOSS
Kaep - vs Chi (7-2) 16-23 with 2Tds no pick - Rating 133.1 (which is higher than Fitz has ever done in 8 years of football) WIN

    Fitz-vs Min (7-5) 26-45 with 0TDs and 5Ints and a rushing TD - rating 32.4 LOSS
    Kaep vs NO (5-5 but having won 5 of last 6) 16-25 1TD 1Int and a rushing TD - Rating 90.6 WIN

    Recap:
    Fitz - 66-111 (59.5%) 3 Tds and 7 Ints - 2 rushing TDs - record of 1W-2L-0T
    Colin - 43-65 (66.1%) 3 Tds and 1 Int - 2 rushing TDs - record of 2-0-1

You cannot compare the two - one has a rocket for an arm and runs like a deer, the other has an average arm at best and runs ok but no one has to game plan for him.

I am one of the last to support Fitz(see my sig) but I draw the line at comparisons to top flight QBs - he is not and never will be a great QB.
    Looking forward to 2013:

Manuel - most upside in the draft
Woods - most pro ready WR
Alonso - tall ILB with coverage skills
Goodwin - fastest WR in draft
Duke Williams - prince of a pick
Meeks - no he is not
Hopkins - best K prospect in the draft
    Gragg - vertical threat TE

Go ahead and complain - I am happy with this draft
Adopt a Bill - first choice Alonso, second Goodwin

Dude, did you call Kaepernick a "Top Flight" quarterback?

The last real post in the best thread ever. I'm honored. Thank you, AZbacker. It was a good run, Budda.

Jayryp's buddy is still a fine WR.

    Yes I did.

Been saying that before he was drafted.

In the last two weeks, who has been better? Maybe Peyton and Brady - that is it. Therefore, he is currently a "top flight" QB.

For the season, the only starting QBs with a better rating are Rodgers, Brady, P. Manning and RGIII - top 5 means top flight.

In his four years in college, who was better? Ans: No one. In the history of the game - 10,000 yds passing 4,000 yds rushing. No one has done that.

I know how good he was in college. But that's not the same, and you know it. It's been 2 games. I think he's good, I think he has a bright future, but I believe you have to "Earn" being call a Top Flight QB.

Why is this thread still up 4 days later? I used to enjoy this board. I have a better question. How did we miss on Thomas Brady in the 5th round?

I said this, i think it might have been in another thread, i saw colin make throws in his 1st NFL start that i've never seen Fitz make. I don't care what their stats are and what their rankings are , colin looks like the real deal and Fitz had never lookd that way in 8 years, despite what many homer idiots on this board think.

You don't even know what draft he's from.

Anyway, the 49ers developed Kaepernick. On the field, in the classroom, and in the weight room. He would have never developed properly at OBD. So it doesn't matter.
