Seemed to me like the defense was in the offenses playbook... People need recognize when a defense is playing well ie; tackling the receiver immediately, and when a QB looks not confident...

He seems very JOE FLACCO to me and to be honest..... I would be all for having JOE FLACCO.
I think the Joe Flacco comparison is totally valid because they look identical in the pocket. He's got good feet, he doesn't get rattled by pressure and he's very good at going through his progressions, taking what the defense gives him. When the opportunity arises to push the ball down field, he completes most of those passes because his deep ball is phenomenal.

The other thing that impresses me is his ball placement. On all the crossing routes, quick slants and swing passes to running backs, the ball is usually perfectly placed so that the receiver can catch it and turn up field for additional yardage. I think this is a commonly overlooked trait but I think it's what makes QBs like Brady, Manning and Brees so great.

I'm not saying Glennon is any of those guys, I'm just pointing out that he has the ability to deliver the ball right on the money to tightly covered receivers and lead them so that they can catch it and turn up field for extra yardage.

i think we run the offense we do because of who fitzpatrick is and gailey doesn't need that specific QB because he can change his offense to work with who he has and what skill set they have.

Since when is being a pocket passer a bad thing- Phillip Rivers, Tom Brady, Eli & Peyton Manning, Joe Flacco and Matt Schaub all are pocket passers and they do it pretty well, Brady doesn't have a dominant OL he just gets the ball off real quick. Glennon could be as good or better as all of these guys (you never know) and I think the fact that he isn't a Cam Newton type of runner only prolongs his career.

Matt Barkley gets alot of hype and he should, he comes as a face of a franchise from day 1 and I don't see him fre falling out of the 1st round. He has 2 outstanding WR's yes but that OL is god awful, his defense is even worse or just as bad. I see people on here calling him noodle arm but I have seen him pass for 6 yard bombs in stride through the air on many occassions, he has tons of full games all over the net just google them and you can see for yourself. His big knock will be his height, if he measures under 6'2" tall then he might fall a bit due to that but everytime I have watched him I see a guy who can make all the throws and puts the team on his shoulders in every game.

I personally would be thrilled with either of these 2, heck I would be thrilled with any QB they select in round 1, I wont be too happy if they select a guy in round 2, to me that would be the front office just appeasing the fans, they select a 1st round QB and they are serious about the future of this franchise moving forward.
I know it was a typo but I spit out my drink reading your post when talking about Barkley's deep ball skills because you said " I have seen him throw for 6 yard bombs in stride". I'm assuming it meant to say 60.

Glennon is a terrible decision maker who often just throws the ball up for grabs. Hope he goes to the Jets. He is not that good.

Also hope we are not running Chan Gailey's offense next year.

He reminds me more of Matt Ryan with his progression reading skills. But that is probably because he has the same qb coach as Matt Ryan had in college.

    Barkleys great with deflated balls.
His pick count is way too high. We have a pick machine in Fitz already get a smart accurate strong armed QB not from California. We tried three California guys already.

    None of them worked out.

We had a HOF defensive end from Virginia Tech. By your logic, Chris Ellis would be amazing and not playing in the CFL

You lost me. I'm talking about QB from California that played for the Bills. Rob Johnson, JP and Trent. Three failures from California, also the last three USC QB have been less than stellar pros.

You don't draft USC QBs. They cheat, have amazing talent around them making them look alot better than they really are and **** why don't I just list the names.

    Rob Johnson-Sucked in the NFL.

Matt Leinart- Sucked in the NFL.

Carson Palmer- slightly above average, hasn't won anything yet though.

    Mark Sanchez-lawl

Its more than a pair of DE linked by a college. The school makes QBs look good. Mostly by deflating balls and what not. deflating balls. Do you want a QB that prefers deflated balls?

I love reading **** posts from **** posters that post **** about a QB without any substance. I mean a one sentence comment about the offense being a fit for a NCAA QB is a sure win! lol

Derek Carr. 2 years pro style Offense 2 years Spread.
Only a Jr this year but 35+ TDs 5 Ints.
I think nearly 7200 yrds 65 TDs and under 15 Ints last 2 years.
Athletic 6'2" 1/2 220 lbs, competitive, smart, can read defenses well.
Still has another year but I like this kid.

Good post. I agree totally about the importance of hitting guys in stride so they can get YAC. It's a highly underrated skill.

Not sure Glennon is the type to fit Gailey's offense, but I'd love to see him as a Bill.

i agree i think thats the guy they are targetting and i think he is goping to be a great NFL QB.

big a little mobile and he can throw a dart 60 yards or a touch pass when ever he want to. the kids arm and smarts are undeniable just watch him play.

saw him again last week and i was thinking how great he would be in red white and blue!

bet you he goes before barkley, there is no doubt in my mind actually i think he is the best QB in the draft. 6/6 QB who throw the ball and have an inate understanding of the game like he has like him are rare!

the think that impresses me the most is the touch he can put on the ball he can accurately throw a 40 yard dart or a 40 yard touch pass.

IMO if we somehow can get lucky and draft him he will start from day one!
