I disagree. I think he's Dan Marino 30 years later. Subpar senior season, but you can't deny the talent and will be a good pro.

Barkley doesn't have the size or arm talent that Marino had. He really isn't super talented. More like he has great talent around him playing at USC

Have you even watched barkley ? Or do you just go off of his numbers and all the hype that surrounds him (every USC qb)?
Let's face it folks Barkley nor Geno nor any other qb in this years class are anywhere the sure thing that RG III and Luck were. I for one am against taking the wrong qb just bc we need one, I don't want another Mark Sanchez type that we would be forced to watch. That is and would be as hard as it seems a step backward.

Very high character also fits the Nix/Gailey model that we've seen with our selections the last few years. Gonna be hard to wait 'til April to see how this plays out.

Is this according to you? Mel Kiper Jr. /Mcshay still have him as the #1 QB.

First of all, you never know who is 'rising' or 'falling' until the actual draft. Bradford and Locker were said to be dropping, in actuality they did not drop.

Secondly, the guys who drop may not actually be legitimate franchise QBs. You saw guys like Brohm and Clausen drop and they dropped for a reason.
Before you die Lonestar, there is something you should know... I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roomate.

I can see it now. The Bills are picking 9th overall.....and Buddy Nix trades back to 15th, gets another 2nd round pick. Drafts Manti Te'o at #15 and than uses both his 2nd round picks to move up into the lower half of the 1st round and selects Matt Barkley!!!

    ....nah....not really.

Good observations....and you are accurate. No one is "dropping" anywhere right now. What is happening is that there is less HYPE about Matt Barkley at the moment, but as teams that suck get closer to draft day and they have a desire to draft a QB, Barkley will be on their radar in the Top 15.

Jimmy Clausen was a legitimate franchise QB too. It should have happened to Blaine Gabbert, but someone made a bet that they could get a team to take him in the top 10... an won.

What's good is no one here is qualified to rate QBs. I hope we grab anyone.

Same exact thing they said about Drew Brees. Heard it all last year too when I and many others wanted Russell Wilson and were told he was too short. Stupid, stupid argument. Size means nothing if you know how to play the game.

Barkley has a noodle arm and can't get the ball downfield...
Don't need another QB that can't stretch the field

I saw Barkley live 1 game this year (Against Washington). By all mean I am not a recruiter, It was only 1 game but I was absolutely not impressed by him. We'll see but I don't expect him to be a very good QB in the NFL. I found him overrated.
