I've tried to give Gailey a benefit of a doubt because I feel like Fitz is holding him back from being a true high powered offense. After watching yesterday's game...he's a terrible coach.

I'm surprised it took so long for you to figure that out.

It's important to remember that Gailey wasn't Nix's first choice. Or his second, third or fourth. I doubt he's in bed with him as much as people in this thread think.

According to Nix he was being overwhelmed by big name candidates literally begging for an interview, let alone the job. But he claimed Gailey was his guy all along despite the Cowher rumors.

What scares me though is it might not be BS after all and really true, especially after reports surfaced that Brian Billick was interested in the job but Nix wouldn't return his calls.

If he talks to other coaches and they all say no, he loses credibility as a sales man/negotiator. If he still has a good draft, then he keeps credibility as a talent evaluator

Gailey's excuse for not kicking the 52 yard field goal was he felt the Defense was playing solid so they wanted to pin the Rams deep. That's about as backwards as backwards can be. If your Defense is playing like **** you might want to try to pin the opponent deep and make the opposing offense drive the field for the score. If the D is playing solid, and they were, you attempt the field goal. If Lindell misses it you just bank on the SOLID DEFENSE to stop the Rams at mid-field. This man lacks common sense. He used the same excuse against the Colts. Between that, the misuse of Spiller, and the overuse of Fitzpatrick i don't even know how this team won 5 games so far. Get him out of there already.
