"A condition Jones chose to keep private at this time."

"What matters is two years and three years down the road, if we have this thing turned around in the right direction and we're winning," Nix said. "I know before I'm asked this, you're going to think I'm crazy, but we're not that far away."
“Russ and I scanned a list of possible candidates,” Wilson said. “We didn’t know them. I didn’t know them. I don’t think Russ did. We narrowed it down to two candidates for the job of general manager of football, two in-house candidates.”

My guess is cancer
good luck donald !
"lets end this playoff drought"
I doubt it's AIDS. for a couple reasons.
Jones said he's been dealing with it for years and that is doesn't effect his performance at all. If you've never known anyone with AIDS(I have, and do) it effects your body a hell of a lot more than most people think. Secondly, he's going to NYC about it, Buffalo has some of the best AIDS treatment programs in the northeast.
I get the feeling it's something more along the lines of a minor, passive condition that causes annoyance but not much else. Though it could be HIV I suppose, but I still don't think so. He's obviously kept it private for a long period, why would he say 'you'll know more after I see this specialist' if he's kept it private for so long and it was such a significant illness?
Strange situation though, nonetheless.
