There have been times I've gone into games hoping the Bills would lose (draft-related), only to root for them once the game started. All I will say is, I am hearing some scary talk by some (e.g., Joe Buscaglia right now on WGR) who are making arguments why the FO could retain Gailey. If this is indeed still possible, the best case would be a blowout loss on Sunday. Secure a higher pick and hopefully seal Gailey's fate.

A lot of people including myself think there's more to gain from losing a meaningless game as opposed to winning one. I'm not necessarily cheering for the Jets to do good just the Bills to play like they have been the past couple of weeks.

    -Secures Gailey's dismissal
-Top 4-6 pick(very good shot at getting a QB in this range)
    -More attractive to prospective HC's

how gailey and nix arent on the chopping block is beyond me. how can u lose multiple games to blowouts and keep your jobs over 3 yrs? have a .3 winning record? really man? how is it even a discussion?
I suspect if they are back there is no leader at OBD and they all are just doing whatever they want. nix should be fire for our 3 rd round draft debacle this yr alone!!

ive said it a hundred times the real issue is top management and wilson. we need a full enema that means wilson on down.
how many more years do we as fans have to put up with this??

I would love to see someone with a lot of time look into any correlation between Week 17 outcome for teams in meaningless games and success the next year. I would bet every penny I owned that it has absolutely no positive impact on the next year....

Having a great QB and impact players breed winners not wins in week 17...

    Of course it does.

I understand people wanting the draft pick more, but a win would absolutely mean a lot to the pride of this group. Who knows, it could even weigh on the minds of Byrd or Levitre and give them more motivation to return. I don't say it will, but it could.
You just told me how much it matters and then you end your argument with "Who knows...I don't say it will, but it could" - way to bring it strong Thurman.

Beating Mark Sanchez in front of 35,000 people to finish 6-10 on the year may be the tipping point for Byrd to signing up for 4 more years.....

I ALWAYS want the Bills to win.

Pretty simple to see what is gained with a loss as opposed to the mythical crap that you think will be gained. After all, those late season wins under Dick Jauron certainly proved to be the difference the following year didn't they???
So f'in what? Do you really watch the games for the draft pick order? You need to check your priorities...............

Draft pick order means "Richard" if you don't pick the right guys. The Patriots haven't had a problem picking after the rest of the AFC East for quite sometime, but don't let that get in the way of your tunnel vision.

I hoped the bills would have lost the denver game last year as well. If they lost that game they could have drafted a DROY candidate in Luke Kuechly. Instead we made the obscure pick of Gilmore. So I think my priorities are set, and its very logical. Bills lose, we can draft a better prospect.

I don't see how we can lose this game! It's gonna be snowing as far as I can tell, which means a very run dominated game! Unless the jets have some incredible running back the bounced up from the practice squad! But in the bills I trust they can find a new way to lose!

It's not even a valid comparison, not even close...

Of course great teams like the Patriots and others haven't had problems picking later in the draft...

    Do you know why???

The heavy odds are that they probably have a great F-ing QB and a great F-ing coach...

The Bills have neither and if losing this game means Gailey's gone and they have a higher pick to have the possibility of picking a QB then go Jets!!!

The Jets are in complete turmoil right now. It would be embarrassing to lose to these guys not once but twice in the same year. We're probably the only team that's made Mark Sanchez look like Joe Montana this season. It'd be sickening to lose to these guys twice.

Would you rather lose to the Jets or have Gailey back next year?
