He'd bring a swagger and confidence that the team and city needs. He's also a fantastic defensive coach and decent at talent evaluation. I think that if Rex can get himself fired, he'd make a great head coach with Buffalo
Coaches with like the 31st and 3nd defense have won the Superbowl. No, to Rex Ryan. Yes, to a coach who can get his offense to score points and put the ball into the best players hands as much as possible.

Cordy Glenn - let him play left tackle people. Geesh!

My expectations for our new coach are simple.
    1. Have the ability to locate decent stop gap players that are better players than the last ones who were on this roster for far too long.
    2. Win as many games as you can, but when you lose ... get beat, don't follow in the steps of your predecessors who seemed to try and find new and inventive ways to loose winnable games.

A lot better than I would that if Chan Gailey was our HC.

Well he makes me laugh, so sure.
He's a great DC and would love him in that capacity.
He's not ruthless enuf to be a great HC.

    What are my other choices?

If we get a great offensive coordinator at the same time, and we have no other guys that want to the job, he would be at least better than Chan. So it would be an upgrade.

I'm not sure Chan has an ego. He usually just stands on the sidelines with a blank stare on his face. It is the same in his interviews as well. No attitude at all.

Rex would be an upgrade and bring press attention back to the Bills for a while. However, Rex would not come to Buffalo unless he was given total control and an open checkbook. and he's still a buffoon.

    Definitely would like Rex.

He is definitive, doesn't beat around the bush with cliches and I trust him.

I think he is a mans man.

One hesitation is he one sided and has had problems picking a viable OC (Schotenheimer, Sparano)

I wouldn't mind him as a DC, working with a better head coach than he is.

it shouldn't be too hard to make our offense succesful, give the ball to spiller. but i don't think we should go back to the 3-4 even though we have the personel

A head coach who is loyal to a below average regressing quarterback. Why does that sound familiar?

Mario did not leave Houston because they ran a 3-4. He left because they didn't have enough cap space to keep him and didn't offer him a contract (or at least a realistic offer).
