The content is overwhelming! Holy cow!
It is funny, I made the same comments about how many people were at the game and didn't leave in my where were you thread.
I do find it amazing that in both that thread and this one, the amount of people who had satelite dishes back then or found a bar to watch the game. WNY must have had more satelite dishes than any other place in the world.
Funny thing is, I don't remember a lot of people having them back then. I am also pretty sure my Uncle in Machias had a satelite dish at the time and he went to the game because it was blacked out in the area. I know the bar I worked at it couldn't get the game either. But it seems like we must have been the only one.
Absolutely it was on reg TV i remember watching and being so bummed out. I dont think i ever been so sad to so happy in that short of time frame. I can remember telling me that even when we were down that my dad told me this game isnt over- probably telling me to make me feel better but needless to say he was right.
It was blacked out within a 75 mile radius of Buffalo NY because it was not a sell out. It would have been on tv in NJ. As it was everywhere, but not in the black out zone around Buffalo. Most of my friends that I know that went to the game, decided to go down the day of the game and get tickets because it wasn't a sell out and it wasn't going to be on TV.
No way!!!!
I couldn't tell from your Location saying Linden NJ.
I was commenting because you guys were saying it was on regular tv. It was on NBC and was broadcast on NBC everywhere in the US, with the exception of the 75 mile radius around Buffalo NY. That was the black out rules back then, because the game wasn't a sell out. Hence my original comment. Those of us who lived in Buffalo at the time, were unable to watch it because it was not on TV.
Although by all accounts, based on this thread and the other one, plenty of people somehow found a way to watch it in Buffalo.
