people really need to get over the whole fitz thing. the bills were such a mess a few years ago, that i think the though of having just an average qb was good enough. the lines have been rebuilt, and i personally think it's a better team than it was when nix took over. as far as saying fitz can take them to the superbowl...what the hell is he supposed to say? he was backing his guy at the time. i really wouldn't expect him to say anything different. he was a stopgap qb, and his time is done.
i think nix's biggest problem is not drafting another qb...not the evaluation. just because he kept fitz as the starter as the rest of the team is being repaired doesn't mean he can evaluate college qbs. they attempted to patch the qb postion and maybe get lucky with fitz. it didn't work, and now it's time to move on. we'll see how he handles the draft. if nix drafts a cb or rb in the first, go nuts.

Before you die Lonestar, there is something you should know... I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roomate.
he takes shots at buffalo any chance he gets. he's been banned under another user name, and is by far, one of the worst posters on here.
the guy actually made the comment that when ralph wilson dies, the team will just fold, and cease to exist. not be sold, not moved...just shut down.

FACT. the ignore feature works.
he's also the clown that brought in Mario Williams
Buffalo.... A drinking city with a sports problem.
This team now has an identity.... FAST

The last real post in the best thread ever. I'm honored. Thank you, AZbacker. It was a good run, Budda.omgz, forgive my thoughtlessness.
Grundy208: sticky hicky
Jayryp's buddy is still a fine WR.
You can't argue that Nix has bar none flipped this roster inside out. There has already been threads saying the player changes by positions, and it's ridiculous how much we've improved these 3 years. The ONLY downfall he had was not drafting a QB, but at the time whether you like it or not Fitz was in control of the team and we all knew no Rookie could come in and establish Chans play book. I got faith going into this draft I feel as though we have a lot of options in FA also so that will open opportunities. I think he set up this offseason the right way and with Russ coming out and saying we need to prove we can win now. I think there's a different mentality. Go Bills!!
& this tulsabills**** is a toolbag, straight up and I think he knows this he just wants to see how far he goes! The kid is in middle school stop arguing with him and just report him so he can get banned, and that's a FACT! Lmao
I trust Buddy's EVALUATION of QBs but where he has had problems the past few years is the VALUATION of QBs. He liked Cam, but Carolina took him. I think he liked several others beyond him and in last year's class but where he had a 2nd round grade on them, they were taken in the first (Ponder, etc.) I think he may have liked others but had a third round grade and they were taken in the second (Dalton, Kaepernick) and then when he had a 4th round grade, they were taken in the third (Wilson, Cousins). Two years in a row the new CBA caught him by surprise - it is no longer a risk to take QBs - they make more but not that much more than other positions - you can take more than one now and take one nearly every year. From the recent interviews, it seems like this has sunk in finally and Brandon will hopefully make sure he is more aggressive - but not take a guy at 8 that has no business there(See Gabbert). With this class, the best move is to take BPA at 8 and hopefully a defensive LB/DE playmaker. Then take your QB in the 2nd - this is the SF method, which I prefer much over the Washington method - keep your picks and make sure your team has depth around him. Washington's defense will degrade over the next few years while SF will stay on top or at least in the playoffs.
This is not a mistake - Buddy is a good evaluator of talent, I think Russ will make sure he and the HC chosen will be aggressive in FA and the draft - let's hope they aren't foolish.
His next move should be to pick a head coach and then secure Byrd and Levitre for that HC.
Looking forward to 2013:
Manuel - most upside in the draft
Woods - most pro ready WR
Alonso - tall ILB with coverage skills
Goodwin - fastest WR in draft
Duke Williams - prince of a pick
Meeks - no he is not
Hopkins - best K prospect in the draft
Gragg - vertical threat TE
Go ahead and complain - I am happy with this draft
Adopt a Bill - first choice Alonso, second Goodwin
If Fitz didn't get his ribs cracked against the Redskins he might've been a different qb. Who knows I might be wrong but the guy did all the right things at the time and beat the Pats which gave an extra incentive to give him that contract. Yes it was too early to give him the contract now that we look back on it but unfortunately that injury happened right after he signed the contract.
