We are not in AZ to only look up Whisenhunt/Horton/Grimm... I'm pretty sure we want to interview Chip Kelly... Fiesta Bowl... Tempe, AZ... or is it indoors in Phx/Glendale?

I think Lovie could do wonders for our woeful linebackers and get the best out of d-backs and d-line.

He absolutely needs to pay attention to the offense this time (lesson learned hopefully). Get a good QB and with our o-line and Spiller a good defense should help the offense out tremendously.

Do not understand the infatuation with Chip Kelly. But I do believe you are right that we will interview him in AZ also.

I personally want a coach with NFL head coach experience that will bring in NFL experienced assistants.

I know it has been only 24 + hours but like the fact the Bills are going after the respected candidates, and have a good chance at getting one of them.
Pretty sure you still need permission to talk to him first.

The Lovie Smith love on this board is shameful. He's a putrid game manager and a suspect play caller. Just awful choice as a head coach.

This is an interesting metric that raised my eyebrow today.

@Schopptalk: Nix says percentages favor hiring experienced coaches. Eight of the 12 playoff teams this year are coached by men in their first NFL jobs.
What would you be doing if nothing were impossible...

Sometimes it takes just one stone to find what you want.....i mean, do you see Buddy turning over 50 stones at the ripe age of 73??? The trip to AZ might have wore him out and the Bills need get Buddy to the interview before he forgets why he is in AZ.

I hope they interview more than just the AZ staff...like somone from a playoff team.

I believe you are correct, but if it's a promotion it is usually granted.

I think he's shown flashes of coaching ability that we haven't had since Wade.....and it's those flashes that intrigue me.
why do you keep saying tightwad owner? They backed up the truck for Fitzgerald and Kolb.
When the Bills hired Jauron and Gailey, the team's misfortunes were 100% predictable. At least Marrone has a chance to succeed.

I understand the connection to Pittsburgh and Whaley but he only had a few more wins than chan I heard.

Do they still have that Minority Interview clause? We should just hire Lovie. It would cure our Defensive woes, Spiller/Stevie/Nelson/Chandler/Fred would cure Lovie's Offensive woes, and he has accomplished the most in the NFL of our potential candidates, plus WANTS TO BE HERE! Maybe Urlacher would come too.

Did he mean first NFL HC job?

Seahawks, NE, Skins and Broncos are all retread HC's. The rest of them had NFL assistant experience prior to their current HC jobs that I know of.

At this point I prefer a former NFL HC that has accomplished something in the NFL.
